I'm BACK :)

Image
Well, it's been a very long time since I have posted on this blog!  I have been busy building my YouTube channel as well as my Patreon community. I created my very own website this past weekend and decided to join in my blog.   I have created a subscription on the website so that I will be able to send a monthly newsletter which I think can be fun for little updates on what I’m doing.   But I also thought it could be wonderful to do other news throughout the month that I would not want to put in a monthly newsletter. Therefore, it’s my plan to use the blog for that purpose.   I hope to share with you some cards or other makes that I do.   Here are the recycled Christmas cards that I have made in my Youtube video today.   You can click here if you want to go and see the video.     Take care everyone and see you soon. Yes I managed to do it again!!!  Recycled more Christmas cards :)  My stash is getting bigger and I'm feeling quite encouraged by this. Not only am I getting those cards done but I'm also using stickers that hardly stick anymore...and bits of papers left from tons of previous projects.  And even doing this my scrap pile doesn't seem to diminish.  At least I know that I'm finally using my stuff!  And that was a big resolution for me this year. You can watch the process of how I turned 3 cards into those :) As mentioned in the videos I use premade card bases that I have had also for years!  My god the stuff that we hoard... or I should say "I" hoard!!! I'm entering this set of cards in the following challenges: Crafting from the heart challenge blog  - Anything goes The papergirls challenge  - Patterned paper - used a lot of little scraps Crafty hazelnuts patterned paper  - Patterned paper Christmas cards all year round  - Snowflakes - I

Well I'm really ADDICTED now to doing the recycled cards.  I'm continuing my youtube series, I'm now at week 3 and that means quite a lot of Christmas cards done already and finally making a dent in the pile of cards that I get every year and just keep adding too. You can watch my video here: I used 2 tiny cards and one big one and made 6 cards out of them!  How cool right?!?  And I went through my stash of left over papers and just USED them :)  So finally getting some use out of all of those. The card bases are from the thrift store as well as from Homesense our equivalent of TJ max.  Love purchasing blank cards when they come on special.  You get some great deals. I'm entering those in the following challenges: A bit more time to craft  - Anything goes Card mania challenges  - Layer it.  The top left hand card has many layers! Giving Christmas cards new life

Image
Hello everyone!  I don't know for you but in my case I really hate to waste.  And the Christmas cards that I get but that are not handmade used to go to the recycling because let's be honest you can't keep EVERYTHING.... Now that I do some junk journal I could use them for that but I much prefer getting ahead of the game and make some new Christmas cards out of them.  So I wanted to share with you what I did with mine.   I have made a video of the process that you can see here And here is the look of the cards that were done!  I managed to make 11 out of 3 cards and within an hour.  That is pretty fast when usually when I color an image and all just for the coloring it will take me up to an hour... I hope this will inspire you to use up your cards in a similar way instead of sending them to the recycling. I'm entering those cards in the following challenges: A bit more time to craft  - Anything goes Christmas cards all year round  - Snowflake

Tree - Recycled Christmas

And here's my next entry so I now qualify to get my piece of fabulous paper from the awesome challenge  12 months of christmas . This time around I'm using another recycled image but the card that this came from gave me 2 images!!!  So it's pretty fun.  And I just love how sparkly this image was.  It's just gorgeous. I kept this card really really simple.  I just stamped the sentiment.  I used my Quickutz nesting ovals and added some pearls and ribbon from my stash.  The paper is also from Basic Grey - Nordic Holiday. I'm entering this card in the following challenges: 12 months of christmas  - I didn't do the twist just the regular Christmas card Crafty hazelnuts christmas challenge  - Anything Christmas Abc christmas challenge  - D is for Die cut Fab n funky challenges  - Let's see some snow That's it for this :)  YAY made it in time.... lol

I've been wanting to play in the challenge  12 months of Christmas link up  because you get really great paper just for participating!!!  But I'm still not making cards like I use too.... it takes me forever to make one... man... looking forward to being back! Anyway so I'm sharing some recycling that I made with some Christmas cards that I got this year.  The images were really awesome and it's something that I have seen Hazel do and I thought it was quite clever.  So I had put some aside last year and they stayed in a drawer.... pretty useless... so this year I made a few and hoping to make more! I used paper from Nordic Holiday by Basic Grey I'm almost finished that pack...  I used my Large squre, Label 11 Fleur de lis square.  I used some shimmer cardstock by DCWV.  I used a bunch of blings and that's it!  How easy right?!?  But I still think it turned out pretty good.  And it's a great way to reuse something and give it another life.
