Recycled Christmas cards wk 5

Image
Yes I managed to do it again!!!  Recycled more Christmas cards :)  My stash is getting bigger and I'm feeling quite encouraged by this. Not only am I getting those cards done but I'm also using stickers that hardly stick anymore...and bits of papers left from tons of previous projects.  And even doing this my scrap pile doesn't seem to diminish.  At least I know that I'm finally using my stuff!  And that was a big resolution for me this year. You can watch the process of how I turned 3 cards into those :) As mentioned in the videos I use premade card bases that I have had also for years!  My god the stuff that we hoard... or I should say "I" hoard!!! I'm entering this set of cards in the following challenges: Crafting from the heart challenge blog  - Anything goes The papergirls challenge  - Patterned paper - used a lot of little scraps Crafty hazelnuts patterned paper  - Patterned paper Christmas cards all year round  - Snowflakes - I

Solitary confinement - Oddball

Hello!  Hope you have a wonderful Saturday.  I'm here today to share with you a make that I did for Oddball.  My last make as a dt.  I loved my time and I think it's time for me to step down. I really wanted to make a piece that was representative of me as of the moment.  I really do need that alone time to craft and do some art.  Recently one of my kids (as they were all going to the movie theatre) mentioned how I would miss them and would be lonely.  He is right I would be if it was for a very long period of time... but I'm finding that more and more I do need that time alone with myself to just play.  So no I wasn't going to miss them for 2.5 hours lol.  Actually I thought they came back way too fast! For this last make I'm using the wonderful image 363 .  He was just perfect for the little out of the box journaling that I wanted to do.  You can watch me on the video here. And here is my little journaling make I found the wording in a magazine and just

Just Breathe you got this journal - Jen of Eve Design DT make

Hello everyone!  I made this album out of paper and recycled cardboard using the wonderful templates from Jen of Eve Designs that you can find here .  The templates make it so easy to make!!! I decided to make it 6x6.  Which is also one thing that I love with Jen of Eve designs template is that you don't waste papers! And you can use little bits from other projects as well.  For this I used some papers from 7gypsies called Epicurean that you can find here .  It's such a great paper pad for this type of project. You can see how I made the album here: I was wondering what to put on the cover and then I found some ephemera pieces that were just perfect for it!  I think we all need to be reminded to just breathe lol. I used a ribbon as the closure. The metal corner pieces are from my stash.   Here is a look from the side.  There's still room for the person that gets this to add pictures and ephemeras. And here it is opened up.  You can see there's man

Well I'm really ADDICTED now to doing the recycled cards.  I'm continuing my youtube series, I'm now at week 3 and that means quite a lot of Christmas cards done already and finally making a dent in the pile of cards that I get every year and just keep adding too. You can watch my video here: I used 2 tiny cards and one big one and made 6 cards out of them!  How cool right?!?  And I went through my stash of left over papers and just USED them :)  So finally getting some use out of all of those. The card bases are from the thrift store as well as from Homesense our equivalent of TJ max.  Love purchasing blank cards when they come on special.  You get some great deals. I'm entering those in the following challenges: A bit more time to craft  - Anything goes Card mania challenges  - Layer it.  The top left hand card has many layers! Crafty hazelnuts christmas challenge  - Anything goes - option feature a creature - I did twice :) Hope you all have a won

I know I know Christmas has just passed... and it's not time yet for Christmas.  But I'm trying to get ahead for next year as you have seen in the past 2 weeks with my recycled card making. I thought that the great image 362 from Oddball was perfect for this.  And it's a great time to remind you of the FB challenge that is going on over at the FB group Oddball !  It's anything goes if you use an Oddball image!  So go ahead and start playing with them!!!! And here is my card: I used some recycled gift paper with a Quickutz die to make the background, so happy that I'm actually doing something with it and not just HOARDING it!  I just adore being able to recycle.  The image was colored with my copics and the edge was done with some fire brick distress ink.  I also used a Spellbinder die for the sentiment. I'm entering this in the following challenges: Patties creations challenge  - Use an animal image Creative knockouts  - Celebration - going with Ch

Aurora Angel with Stricking blue eyes

Image
Hello!!!!!  It's time for a new release image over at The East Wind.  And I have to say that she is GORGEOUS.  You can find the image Aurora Angel with Stricking blue eyes here as part of a set . I really HATE making sympathy cards but you always need a few in your stash and I find it's worst to make them when you have actually need it... So I thought she was going to be great to use for this. I added some bling to this.  The flowers and birds are from a package that I had ordered a long time ago... don't know from which company.  I have used my spellbinder dies and edged the sentiment with my vintage photo distress ink.  The image was colored with my copics and I used a sakura gel pen on top of the wings for the added shine. I'm entering this card in the following challenges: Word art wednesday  - Anything goes Crafty sentiments  - Anything goes Sunny day crafting  - Artic animals- I went with the option of anything goes That's it for me for today.
