Happy birthday card!

Image
OMG it's been FOREVER since I have posted here.  I had such great intention at the beginning of the year and then well that never happened.  It's been quite a year as you would know if you follow me on Youtube. But it's not the same to actually post a story here. Anyway I needed to make a b-day card and the image from the East Wind was just PERFECT for this!  You can find her here .  I don't color much with my copics anymore.  Some of my markers are clogging up.... sad really.  I have been doing so much more mix media. The paper that I used is probably discontinued before  but it was Kaiser Craft Lush.  You might still be able to find some on E-bay.  That's the best to find the stuff that you can't get your hands upon.  That or maybe some destashing.  I think this was the 1st time that I used that paper pack!  How bad is that?!?  I know I used to do so many more cards than I do now.  Now I mostly do videos about using your scraps!  Something that we have l

Hello!  Hope you are staying warm and safe.  We have been battling crazy cold weather here.  Well in keeping with my resolution here is another post just for the blog that won't be shown on my channel. One of my colleagues gave her resignation before the holidays and her last working day was the 2nd of January.  I figured it would be nice to give her a card signed by the entire department.  So I prepared one.  I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to do.  I knew that she loves biking and I had a perfect stamp that had not yet been used.  I believe I had gotten this when it was on special with the thought of making her a b-day card.  Since that is not happening now it was the time to use it because who knows when I next will feel inspired with this stamp. Don't know about you but there are many stamps in my collection that are not being used and that should be used... all because I don't see the perfect opportunity and since I don't make card as often well this doesn

Hello!  The crickets have been having a field day on my blog... yes I know it's been so long since I have shared something just here just for you all that still follow my blog!  I wanted to 1st of all wish you all a very HAPPY NEW YEAR!  May 2018 bring you health and be filled with joy as well as crafty fun! When I saw the dragon image that Unky created for the East Wind, I just knew this would make a perfect card for my daughter that just ADORES dragon.  You can find the sweet image here . The background that I have used for this was made with a recycled envelope that I covered with paint and left over paper pieces!  You can find that on my youtube channel here if you are interested in making that: It's a great way to recycle and to make very cheap paper that is totally UNIQUE. Here is the card that I have made. The image was colored with some coloring pencils as well as gel pens.  I glued this on black cardstock to make it pop.  The sentiment was made by

Hello!  It's Friday!!!  Wooop woop the only bad part about it being Friday is that boy oh boy does time fly by!!!!  Can't believe we are at the end of October already! This means that soon there will be snow around here... And I'm never quite ready for it!  I don't like the cold and wet lol Talking of cold... I have a project to share that fits this today!  I'm using a brand new release image from Sandra Caldwell called Snow toasty again and you can find this image in her store here . I have made a video of my process if you are interested: The tag is made out of 5 recycled security envelopes that I have glued together!  I used FINALLY my Jane Davenport water color... well 2 of them!  I have colored the snowman with my copics.  I added a foam snowflake and a gem as well as very soft fibers.  Finally the sentiment is from a happy planner set of stickers for holidays! I hope that will have inspired you to go and check out the Etsy store for great images

I also did something that I don't usually do... which is to tape the video of my making one of my typical Christmas cards :)  Hope you enjoy that video: and here is my card.  The paper is from American Craft and I think it was from the target dollar spot. I added some ribbon and just had fun coloring this guy with my copics. I'm not sure if I will be entering challenges or not... So that's it for me!  Have a fabulous day and weekend!!!! Hugs

Journaling out of the box

Image
Hello!!!!  It's Friday and that is always a good thing in my book :)  Looking forward to a very quiet weekend! Today I'm here to share with you a journaling out of the box that I did with a cute little image from Sandra Caldwell it's called Cowgirl chick and you can find it here : I made a video of my process if you are interested: I call those little cards journaling out of the box because it's basically a little bit of mixed media journaling but on a little playing card and then I store those in a drawer/box to display them in my living room.  It's fun working with a different size and out of a typical "book/journal" format. The background already had a lot of stuff on it because I had used left over paints in previous project on the blank card in order not to waste.  The sentiments are cut out of magazines.  I have also done some doodling on this using my faber castell pit pen.  The cute little chick was colored with my coloring pencils.
