OMG there are some new images over at Oddball Art  and I just HAD to play with them.  I made a video of one of the makes.

If you want to go and shop don't forget to use the code DTVICKY10 for you to get 10% off your purchase.

I really love Halloween and I had to use one of the new set for my pocket letter that I was making in a swap!

Here is the video of the making of actually 18 ATCs

I'm sharing the Oddball one here but you will have to see the video for the rest:

I used my gelli printed cards for the background.  It was so much fun to use.  The images were colored with copics.

And for the next image it was just PERFECT for mother's day especially since it has 4 little kids and that is what I have.  So I thought I should use it for the new calendar that I'm making for my grandmother.  I purchase some little calendars with some post it notes and used it with this.
The papers in the background are scraps.  The image was colored with my copics.  I used some glossy accents on the glasses.  And of course I just HAD to use some bling.  The edge was done with some washi tape.  I also used my Quickutz oval die.

I sure hope you like this.

Starstruck! - Dina Wakley

OMG guys I just have to say how wonderful this day has been with the opportunity to meet in real life someone that I totally ADMIRE!  And I'm totally spoiled because my local store can get people like her to come along and yes I'm speaking of Dina Wakley.

I have been thinking of this for over a month since I registered to her classes.  Took 2 and wow was it ever worth it!!!  Just AMAZING time.  She's  very generous of her time and advice and just a wonderful person.  Just as you see on FB or other media but it's so much more in person.

I was almost in tears (had to control myself) to actually get to meet her.  It's the 1st time that I get to be in a class with one of those BIG name people you see.  Never before.  Never felt that I would be even worthy enough to be there... just purchasing the books but that was it from a distance, watching videos but not in person.

I HAD to ask her to take a picture with her.  I was very embarrased to ask but when she said yes I thought this was worth all the embarrasment that I had imagined in my mind.  And as you can see on the picture below

Can you totally tell from my face how excited I was?!?  This was such a special moment for me!!!

WOW can't believe I did this.  Just wonderful.  So guys, if something seems out of scope and almost impossible still believe.  And yup I will probably forget this advice by the end of the weekend but hopefully I will check this post again and remember how awesome it was and that it can happen again many many times.

Can't  believe how far I have come in a year... and in a life actually changing so much and growing.  And I think this is making me a much better mom as well.

That's it for my deep thoughs lol

Have a fab  rest of the weekend.

PS posted a post before this post with the video of what I made this wonderful day.

Show tell and haul

Happy mail from Ina

The east wind - Something that moves

Hello everyone.  I hope that you are having a good day!  It's time for a new challenge over at The east Wind.  And this time it's about movement!!!!

I was thinking for the longest of time what I wanted to do... I knew that I wanted to make something with this image Aurora swim with betty.  And already there's movement but I wasn't sure that it would be enough.  So I added a wobble.

You can see the video here and I also put some more info because there's a glitter pen that I think I got at a dollar store that is just soooooo awesome!!!!

Here is the page.  The background had already been made in a previous video.  I just added a lot of glitter and my images that were colored with my copics.

And of course there's the wobble.  It's the 1st time that I use that in a journaling page and it was soooo fun I will have to think about it again because it really doesn't take that much room and it's just a fun interactive element.  The sentimen was found online and printed using word document.

Mixed media altered mail journal cover

Nelsa - Karleigh Sue

Hello!  I'm here this time for September's inspiration over at Karleigh Sue!!!! WOW the year sure goes by fast.  The kids are already into school and it's back to the routine.  But I'm not ready to let my summer go.... and this means coloring by the pool.

That's in fact what I did here for the background as well as for the wonderful digi Nelsa.

I really love using my coloring books as backgrounds and this way it will become a full journal when I'm finished with it.  I wanted this little fairy to be perched somewhere.  And the branches were just perfect.

Hey!  Our long weekend is already over... booohooo but we had some WONDERFUL weather so can't complaint.

Today I'm here to share with you a new release image from The East Wind She's called Lucy Loo Dreaded and she was the perfect image to use in the mission inspiration for the month of September that takes place here.

I made a video to share with you my process because, well it really wasn't all that planned... didn't know how this would turn out until it was finished!

The journal that I used for this is a magazine that I'm transforming!  I really love it because it gives me some print in the back and it repurpose something.

Here is the finished look
I colored her up with my copics and then I used some gel pen on top of her shirt/armor.  The sentiment was found online and I wrote it in word document and then just tore it apart.  I used some silks for the background, some archival black ink as well as fabercastel silver pit pen.  The background was made by putting down lots of faces from a Sears catalogue.

Anyway I found a fabulous book (a very tall one) at a garage sale this past weekend and this was just PERFECT for the journaling for the new freebie and the new challenge over at The east wind.  The challenge this time around is Shine on.  So something that shines (ie stars, moon, etc.)

In my case I did a sky with a bunch of stars and you can see my video here:

This was one of the faster EVER journaling page but very fun.  I used a napkin as my background and then some paint and some stencil :)

The sentiment was found online when I googled up stars sentiments.

  2. Crafty gals corner challenges - anything goes
