Ike's challenge - Song/Film title

Hello everyone!  I'm here to share with you my 1st post of the day!  This one is about Ike's world challenge and this time around our challenge for you is to be inspired by a song or Film Title.

My inspiration was the kid's movie "Home on the range" made by disney :)  I watched it a few times when the kids were little... who am I kidding it was playing in loop for awhile lol

So for this card I used the great image Swiss Cowbell that you can find part of the Switzerland bundle series.

Path of Positivity - midway post - Wisdom

Hello everyone!  It's time for the midway post for the challenge of Path of Positivity.  And this time our challenge for you is Wisdom!

Our fabulous sponsors are:
We always also have the following sponsors:
 ,  and

For my journal I used an image from Ike's Art and it's called Mother's day 2.  I thought it was perfect because I used my father for my 1st post.  And a lot of our wisdom comes from our mothers!  So this was the perfect use for this.  I also think that a lot of the wisdom begins in Wonder like the fabulous sentiment from Create with TLC states.  And there's nothing that shows wonder more than a young child!  They are so amazed at everything!  That's something that I totally adore seeing the world through the eyes of a child :)
So I merged the sentiment from Create with TLC with the great image from Ike for the 1st page of my layout!

Ike's World challenge - Oct 1st

I'm here with some pretty amazing news!!!!  I made the very awesome DT over at Ike's World challenge!!!!  woooohooo! So very happy.  Just love Ike's images.  They are so inspiring and fun.  Love the darker ones as well... but those you will see on my other blog lol.

What's especially fun is that for this 1st challenge where there are DT involved we are playing with the great Awareness image.  This is to reflect the Breast cancer awareness month!

That was the 1st image of Ike that I have ever used!  I made a card over a year and 1/2 about ago.... you can see the post here.  I was going through a really really hard time as my MIL was losing her fight and as I was suffering... I came across Ike's post!  It was as though she was speaking directly to me.  I just had to create a card for my MIL with it and I'm happy to say she got it in time!

So yes this image really brings back memories... My MIL had colon cancer and lost her battle last summer.  But my family as been touched with a few cancers... My FIL is in remission from cancer (something related to his lungs... but not lung cancer), my dad from prostate cancer (he was operated a few years ago and last year had to undergo more treatements...) and finally my mom is in remission from breast cancer.  It seems that this one runs in the family... so I have to have my girls checked regularly now!  Yup we have been deeply affected by cancer!  I was happy to be able to share this with you.  I will be showing a few more this week for this special occasion that is October breast cancer awareness month!

Path of Positivity - Challenge # 5 - Midway point

Good evening everyone!  Hope you had a fabulous day.  I'm here for the midway point of the challenge over at Path of Positivity.  And this time our challenge for you is Optimism.

For this post I used a digi from Ike called Pooch Leaf. I also used a sentiment that I had gotten over at Word Art Wednesday challenge.  I just loved that sentiment and I thought it was the perfect opportunity to use it.  As you know Optimism also comes from knowing good will be coming to you!  And the best thing is that you know one day (hopefully much later) you will get to meet our maker.  So no matter how bad he is there and ready for you.

So this is what I have to share with you in my journal this time

Eye see you - Pink - Just like a pill

I'm back to share a card that I made this past weekend for a challenge that I really wanted to enter.  I had seen a new challenge about 2 weeks ago called Musically challenged challenge.  I really wanted to play and didn't.  So this time I didn't want to miss out.  Especially since the sponsor is Ike's Art and just love her art!!!!  I had just the perfect image to use for this challenge and it's one from Ike.  I paired it with a sentiment from Ginger house.

The video this week is Just like a pill from Pink.

So to make my card I used the image Eye see you from Ike.  It was a freebie on her blog at one point if I'm not mistaken.

For this card I decided to go with a black and white look.  Thought it was more elegant.  I used some left over papers that I had in my stash.  I used Framelits from Sizzix.  I also used Label 21 and long classic rectangle from Spellbinder.  The butterflies were part of my stash.

Here's a look at the digi that I colored with my copics:

OSAAT Challenge #136

This time at One stitch at a time challenge our challenge is a really easy one!  It's use a Digi, how easy is that?!?  And our wonderful sponsor is Joanna Sheen.
For this card I had the opportunity to work with Witch 1 from Ikes World.  Such a fabulous image.

For this card I used paper from DCWV - midnight spell.  I used Label 14 and Label 11 both from Spellbinder.  I often seem to pair those 2 sets of labels together...  I added a ribbon that I purchased at Michaels and a charm from my stash.

Here's a closer look at the digi that I colored using my copics.  I also added some Black soot distress ink to the edge.
Here's a look at the wonderful sentiment from Create with TLC.  Thought it was perfect with this card.

You just have to go and check out the wonderful creations from the other DT at One stitch at a time challenge.  Some fabulous work.  And I really hope you join us for the fun challenge.

Cancer

Hello everyone!  I haven't been on since Thursday night... I commented on blogs and tried to think good thoughts... but I was not in a good place.  Yesterday was really hard for me.  I'm trying to stay "tough" so that I can be there for my husband and my kids.  But yesterday I had to come back home (couldn't handle work) and I broke down.  I'm going to lose my Mother-in-law but she's more like a mother to me.  This woman was the one who showed me how to do so many things (sewing, knitting, crochet, cooking, etc).

As I was looking at my blog read list... the 1st one that was there was from Ikes world.  This great artist had a freebie.... and this freebie was a woman with a cancer ribbon!  OMG I really felt like someone was there to help me... So I thought all day about this card.  I want to send it to my mother-in-law tomorrow. I hope that it reaches her in time.  She's doing a bit better which is great because her kids were able to understand what she was saying... But this terrible disease is taking over her body for sure.  It's just a question of time.  I just hope that she doesn't suffer.
I really love how my card turned out.  I think it's the best CAS card I have done so far!!!!!

I will be sending it to Ike's world.  I hope the artist likes my take on it.  I used the brown ribbon to represent the colon cancer which is what started killing my mother-in-law 3 years ago.  We were very lucky that she's so strong and decided to fight with all she had!!!  We got those extra 3 years.

I'm entering in the following challenges:
  1. Paper pretties blog - CAS card
  2. Jacksons digital expressions - CAS family matter (I think that one is covered!  family matters very very much!!! )
  3. Dutchdare-cardchallenges - For a special lady
  4. Ribbon carousel challenge - Anything goes with ribbon
I want to thank you all so much for the kind words!!!  They really do help.  Thanks for all my wonderful followers support.  And sorry about the super long post... but it really help putting this into words.
