Tonight I'm doing a boys card but with bling ;)  I did a card with my great digi image from Bugaboo LDskateboard.  I had not yet used him and he was just perfect for the challenges I wanted to enter. I had seen on Daring card makers  that they were doing a challenge about sportman.  This card was perfect for it.  And if I deciphered properly I think the sponsor is again the great Tea house bridge . To top it off my kids have friends b-day coming up so I'm sure that I will have a use for him soon: I used one of my cuttlebug embossing folder to create the texture under my little skateborder.  And colored him with copics.  The paint like border is from using a Martha Stewart punch. I followed this sketch: I'm entering him in the following challenges: Paper playtime  - Anything goes Catch the bugblog  - embossing with bling Stella-says-sketch  - for the sketch Crafty card makers  - for the boys Send a smile 4 kids  - one for the boys (my 3rd entry) Craf

For those of you who have read my preceding blogs, I just want to start this one with news from my MIL (mother-in-law).  I believe that all the positives vibes have been helping her!  She's not suffering right now.  She has regained her speech.  The eyesight is not there... but at least she's doing better for now.  She will not be getting better that we know... but at least she's not in pain.  We have no idea at this moment how long we still have her in our lives.  But we are treasuring every seconds. My husband came back home after spending the weekend there with his siblings.  It was quite an emotional time for him.  The kids and I were really glad to see him back home.  We are taking it day by day right now.  But with all this crafting and the wonderful comments that everybody have posted, as well as with all that crying on Friday... I'm doing ok right now.  Today was a wonderful easy going day for me and the kids.  We did what we loved the most... the boys v

Rosebud the Fairy

Image
In continuation with the rest of my post today, I spoiled myself by buying some great digi images from this artist  Mayzy art  there was so much choice that it was difficult to limit myself lol.  My creation this afternoon is with Rosebud the Fairy.  The sentiment was a freebie that I got from  Scribbles by sandy . To make this card I used My mind's eye paper and I used my wonderful nestabilities for the scallop circle as well as the regular circle.  I colored my little fairy with copics and used Stardust stickles on her wings which you see better here: Isn't she just a cutie?!?  Don't you just want to run and get her? ;)   I used this sketch: I really feel that with each card, I'm improving!!!  Thank you my wonderful followers for being there and seeing this transformation. I'm entering this card in the following challenges: Polly craft challenge blog  - sketch Crafty catz weekly challenge  - Anything goes Aud sentiments  - Anything go

Eva the witch

Image
Here's a card just for me ;)  The people who know me know that I love fantasy.  I read tons of books on vampire, witch and other of that kind.  Last week when I purchased images from Stichy Bear Digital.  I had purchased Eva the witch.  She's a digi from Delicious Doodle.  I just fell in love with this digi image.  So today I really wanted to do something with her.  From the start I wanted to do something in monochrome colors.  I just thought it would be the perfect choice for this image. It's funny because as I was trying to choose my papers from the pack of Me & my big idea I had put my image on top of the paper showing the choices... and guess what... that was the choice I made ;)  Here's the look prior to me cutting it down. There was a challenge that I wanted to enter all week... but couldn't figure out what to use as recycled material lol this just happened!  It feels like my cards are taking a life of their own... maybe it was the witch acting out

Today I'm treating myself!!!  I did all the cleaning with the kids yesterday.  And I figured that today I could craft and keep my mind occupied. I saw that  Tickled pink stamps  was sponsoring a few challenges.  I had a great digi that I had been wanting to use and I had not yet done anything with it.  This was the perfect opportunity!!!!   Crafting when we can challenges  had a wonderful sketch and  Card makin mamas  had the wonderful color inspiration a gorgeous cake!!!!  That was perfect for spring.  Here's the card: I had so much fun creating this card!!!!  I got to use some tools that I had not used so far.  The paper is from Paper Reflection and the border was made using My mind's eye paper.  I used a bunch of nestabilities to create the greenery, the flower, the scallop circle, the circle around my digi and the one around the sentiment.  The sentiment is from Hero Art.  I used peeled paint ranger distress inks around the sentiment.  I used my CM tearing tool to

Cancer

Image
Hello everyone!  I haven't been on since Thursday night... I commented on blogs and tried to think good thoughts... but I was not in a good place.  Yesterday was really hard for me.  I'm trying to stay "tough" so that I can be there for my husband and my kids.  But yesterday I had to come back home (couldn't handle work) and I broke down.  I'm going to lose my Mother-in-law but she's more like a mother to me.  This woman was the one who showed me how to do so many things (sewing, knitting, crochet, cooking, etc).   As I was looking at my blog read list... the 1st one that was there was from  Ikes world .  This great artist had a freebie.... and this freebie was a woman with a cancer ribbon!  OMG I really felt like someone was there to help me... So I thought all day about this card.  I want to send it to my mother-in-law tomorrow. I hope that it reaches her in time.  She's doing a bit better which is great because her kids were able to understand wh

Rain or shine

Tonight we received really bad news... my mother-in-law who has been battling a terminal cancer for over 3 years had another cardio vascular incident this week (the 2nd in 2 months).  This time her speech is affected and after the analysis it was discovered that the cancer progressed to her lungs and liver.  She has a few days to a few weeks maximum to live!!!!  This woman was so full of life and such a fighter.  This is a terrible shock to my wonderful husband.  We are all taking this very hard... the kids (my 4 great kids) can't believe that they will be losing their mamy...  Somehow I didn't know what to do with myself.... so I created a card that represents what I'm feeling for my in-laws and I really hope that my little angel can help send vibes to my mother-in-law to alleviate her suffering. I used   my beautiful Bugaboo angel no sunshine and paired her off with  a sentiment I got from birdscard.  That sentiment seemed quite fitting right now.  I colored her wit

Happy birthday to a gardener

Image
wow... not easy making cards for someone else... much easier when they pick from cards that I have already made.  I had a request for a Birthday card for a dad.  And this card needed to be about this person.  The end request was vintage, travel or gardening since he loves to garden and produce tomatoes.  You would be surprised how hard it is to find images that would fit this ;)  But I managed to find some on various vintage sites.  I have put them as reference to this post.  Here's the card: This turned out to be a really difficult card to make but I'm happy with the result.  I used Tattered Angel mist on the sentiment, copics to color the man and some silver dew drops. I'm entering this in the following challenges: Craft your days away  - metal Love to create challenge  - anything goes Make it monday  - anything goes The stamping boutique challenge  - photo inspiration (reminded me of gardening so perfect for my card)  So that's it for tonight and tomorr

Thank you

Tonight I created a thank you card that my husband needed for work ;)  At least he's going through me and not Hallmark lol.  I used another image from  Spyder corner  this one is called Petal and is a freebie this week if you e-mail. I used my CM border punch to make the border on both side.  I also used stickles on the center of the flower and the collar of the cat and I added Robin's nest dew drops.  The flowers are metal and I think I got them at a dollar store... I used this great sketch: I'm entering this card in the following challenges: Craft your days away  - metal Delightful sketches  - the sketch Tammy scrapin corner  - Anything goes with critters Paper pretties blog  - my color inspiration green and pink Dis digi designs challenge  - animal friends Just some lines blog  - say it with flowers So that's it for my night.  I want to thank my new followers!!!! So nice to see new faces in the list.  Hope you like what you see. Have a g

Ivy Fairy

Today I was checking out blogs as I was taking my coffee and I came across a blog that was showing a new challenge to me.  In order to complete the challenge and get the prize you needed to use one of their digi images.  When I went to check out the post I found some beautiful digis and on top of this I could get another bunch of images for free with my purchase... how wonderful is that! Then I discovered another new site that had a wonderful sketch.  They have a great artist that does fabulous images... but I had just purchased some... so I will have to wait to get them next time.  Here's my creation!  My candy for the day. I put glitter on her wings: Isn't she just stunning?!?  I must admit that I really adore fairies.  This one is Ivy Fairy from Delicious Doodles.  I purchased her at Stitchy bear stamps, they have lots of wonderful digis. I used CC design butterfly die cuts as well as a quickutz doily for the lace doily underneath. What's really funny i

Cute little girl

Image
This is my last request from a colleague (at least for now... not sure when they see my cards tomorrow if I won't get more ;) ).  Her daughter is doing her 1st communion.  And she wanted something that would represent her daughter more than the cards that she was seeing at Hallmark.  She mentioned that her daughter liked zebra print, pink and black.  Here's what I came up with: I used again the Cute girl digi from digi Darlas. I had purchased some great charms from Stamp and Create and this is one that I got as a gift (how perfect for this occasion).  I used the stamping technique I had done last weekend to make my zebra pink print.  It's done using Vintage pink distress ink from Ranger. I'm entering this one in the following challenges: Dutchdare  - the sketch - I would have put it in my blog post usually... but it doesn't copy properly :(  Going-buggy  - card for girl  Craft your days away  - metal So that's it!  I finished my requests... Birthday card for dad

Image
This is another one of the request I got.  I have a colleague of mine who's expecting a baby boy YAY and her husband's b-day is this week.  She wanted a card that would be personal and that would be from her and her daughter (a cute little blonde girl).  I happened to have Kraftin Kimmie's Caroline stamp which was perfect for this image.  And to top it off the sketch this week was perfect for it too!  How great is that. I paired Caroline with Cute Girl from Digi Darlas sooo cute!  I thought it would represent well a little 2 year old with an attitude fit for an old soul lol. I used this sketch: I'm entering this card in the following challenges: Kraftin kimmie stamps  - Sketch Crafting when we can challenges  - use 2 images Tsg clear stamps  - card for a dad OK so now I'm off to make the last request! ;) Vicky xo

flashlight

I was thinking of entering in the Dude Time Doodle challenge... and as I was thinking about it I realized that I had the perfect idea for a tag!  And this would also fit with daring card makers  challenge.  They have this week a prize from tea house bridge  such beautiful embellishments ;)  would be great to win... So this is the tag I came up with: I used some of our dead batteries for watch ;) as the embellishment. It's a Bugaboo digi called Flashlight and it features Gus!  I really {heart} him.  Just find him a great character to color!! I'm entering this in the following challenges: Dude time doodles  - tag you're it Divas by design challenge  - anything but a card That craft place blog  - anything but a rectangle and a square The sisterhood of crafters  - recycle, reuse or renew (my batteries ;) ) Daring card makers  - a tag Craft your days away  - use metal I had fun making this little tag!!!  Now I'm looking forward to creating one of my reque

Little hedgy

I have started out my day by making one of the 3 cards that I was asked from colleagues to do.  I showed my work and one of my last card was taken right away.  It's the card that won the top 3 for Especially for you.  Another colleague was eyeing it... so I promised her I would make one for her.  She wanted blue, green and brown colors.  It's for a baptism but she didn't want the typical card for a little boy's baptism... I'm pretty happy with how it came out: I used my little hedgehog from Penny black, colored him with copics and added glossy accent to the balloon to make it shiny. I really hope she likes him... I followed this sketch: I'm entering it in the following challenges: Mojo monday  - sketch Send a smile 4 kids  - card for a boy Going-buggy  - card for a boy Stamptacular sunday challenge  - layers Paper sundaes  - let's get cute Dream valley challenges  - earth colors So I'm off to make a tag... this time for me ;)

Little flowers

Image
I made my first flowers with my EK punch.  I bought this punch a few weeks ago when I went to Scrap en Masse with my Bestee ;)  I had wanted to participate in the Craft Meow challenge this month.   And I've been procrastinating... now the time is right because their sketch was perfect for what I wanted to do ;)  Just loooooove when that happens! I used the leftover paper from the previous card yay for me!  I use my stash lol  I used my little cc design butterfly die.  I'm really happy with the spring look of my card!  When I said that out loud my daughter said (I'm translating here 'cause she speaks French) "that's good mommy because you are never happy with what you do"... I guess I will have to be careful what I say in front of her!  I want her to be a confident individual... not like her mom!  This is the sketch: I'm entering this in the following challenge: creataliciouschallenges  - butterflies and flowers The crafts meow  - ske

April Showers

Image
Today is a great day!  It's raining so a great excuse to craft ;) And I finally got my Tim Holtz distress markers!!!!  I was really excited about using them... so forget about the idea of emptying the wardrobe and changing the clothes... it's cold today anyway... so why put the summer clothes out right?!?  Who's with me on that... lol any excuse to craft instead! So here's my card for this afternoon: And of course my picture is crooked... :(  But I don't want to take the time to take another one because that will be cutting down craft time!  The beautiful digi image is April Showers from Paper cupcake.  I used my distress markers to color the dress and the umbrella.  I added liquid pearl for the bow and some glossy accent for the raindrop.  The doily is made with a quick cuts die. I'm entering this one in the following challenges: Theres magic in the air  - I cased Shirley's card they were all beautiful and the choice was hard... Crafty catz w

Canine Capers

Wow my internet is still there... I'm knocking on wood!!!! I created the card that I was thinking about today.  Except... of course there had to be one... initially I was thinking that I was going to do a card with a girl... and now my girl... turned into a dog... still a lady but a dog lol.  I think she's sooo cute!  Just love her.  Here she is: I used one of the stamps from Canine Capers 2 from Kraftin Kimmie, a charm I got at Zellers (yes I'm canadian lol) and some papers from previous cards.  The sentiment I had gotten at Omer Deserres on special!  It's perfect for a mother's day. I used as inspiration this color choice: And this great sketch: I'm entering this in the following challenges: kraftin kimmie stamps  - picture inspiration Sketch saturday  - Sketch Craft your days away  - Metal (I have a little metal charm) Paper play challenges  - Animal antics Lexis creations  - Use your punches and dies (I used my beaded circle die from nesta

Farewell Tilda

Image
OMG I have internet... don't know how long that will last... seems I have an intermittent issue and they will send the part for my router... might take a week!  So I have internet on and off and mostly off when I want to go on it.  Unbelievable how we have come to depend on it.   So while it's on... here's a card I made for a friend and colleague which is leaving the company.  I think it was fitting and represented well how sad I'm feeling to see her go.  I suppose that I sure hope that we keep in touch! Here's a closer look so you can see the little tear running down her cheek: I added crystal colored stickle to make it glow like tears do.  I also added little pearls to her shoes. My inspiration came from this picture: And these colors: I just love how the colors are so soft.  That's what inspired me with mine. I used this sketch to make the card: The challenge this week also fitted with the theme of my card which was friendship.  I

Here's my last card for the day and actually until Tuesday night... since tomorrow is book club night.  This card fits multiple challenges.  And it's made with a great little Tilda stamp.  I really {heart} Magnolia stamps!  They are fantastic to color. I picked this for you bear from Spyders corner

Image
I found a great artist a few days ago.  She has a blog with the type of name that I would not have gone to... I just HATE spiders!  With a passion!!!!  But this  Spyder-spyderscorner  is not at all what I would expect.  Instead I discovered a tremendously talented artist that gives Freebies away.  One of them is the great little bear that I used in this card.  I don't think he's still free but you can get him at a really low price at her store (find the label on my sidebar).  All kind of great things in that store! I hope that Lyn likes my take on her creation!  To make this card I used some scraps of papers, some pearls from a Dollar store, a button for the center of the flower, my creative memory circle cutter for the 3 circles in the center.  And this great sketch: I'm entering this one in the following challenges: Card pattern  - Sketch Joanna sheen challenge  - For someone special Crazy 4 challenges  - Buttons One stop craft challenge  - Three circles Ca
