Multi fold birthday card

Last night I did a card that was very long to do.... the type of card that I don't usually do at all which is multifolds.

I had a request to make a card for someone for their 50th birthday.  There was soooo much that I was supposed to put on it that I really couldn't do that with a simple card.  It would have been overwhelming.  So after much thought I figured that doing an accordeon style card would solve my issu.

I have lots of stamps from Kraftin Kimmie and the ones that I have used are some that had never been inked...yeah... pretty bad!  I've been using loooots of digis and forgetting about my other beautiful stamps!

Here's the card closed.  I used Mandy on the top to represent staying zen and exercising.
Here's the look when opened.

From above.  The panels to write the message are back of the 2nd V.  This way when the card is closed the message doesn't show.  My signature to this card is part of the 1st V.

This is on the second panel.  And for those that don't read French it states relax.  This is Brigette taking a bath.  I added stickles for the bubbles
This is the 3rd pannel.  It's about escaping and traveling as you can guess from all the embellishments.  I had found for a card I made on Saturday the Eiffel tower as well as the plane and the suitcase.  I had already printed them smaller because obviously this card is not 11x17 like the one I made on Saturday.

I left the last panel without images because the ribbon passes right in the middle of it... so it would not have been as nice.

The paper is from Heidi grace design paper.  It's the front and the back.  All the images have been colored with copics.

It was fun in the end to do... but sooooo long!  This is why I did not post it yesterday night.

For the front of the card I followed this sketch:

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

Happy Father's day - from Romane

I received an order for a father's day card for the daddy from the little girl Romane.  I have done a birthday card a few post earlier this month.

Romane and her dad love to go bike together.  She's turning 2 soon so she goes on the same bike.  But I couldn't find any images for this.  And while looking at the fabulous digis at Digi Darla I came across Briannas bike.  Sooooo cuuuuute!  Just had to create something with her.  And I thought it would be perfect for this occasion.
I used some wonderful nestabilities one of them being my fabulous square fleur de lis and some corner embellishments... don't know the name I put the package away and didn't keep the name :(  But they are lovely no?!?  I also used Robin's nest dew drops.

I have colored her with copics and used my blender to add little spots to the dress.

I followed the following sketch:

Tammy's scrapin Corner Challenge # 12

Today it's anything goes at Tammy scrapin corner. Our sponsor is My Heart Pieces digital.

We really have amazing sponsors!!!  So you should really join in the fun to win ;)

For my card I chose 2 artist that I really adore!  I discovered them about the time I discovered the blog world this spring.  Yes... I was oblivious of this wonderful world.  And now I'm almost at 100 posts already lol

I combined Kozo the clown from Spyders corner.  You can purchase some digi from her site: dragonsmoore. And the sentiment from  Scribbles by sandy.  Both sites have had wonderful freebies as well.  Unfortunately Lyn at Spyders corner recently had a really bad experience... people posting her wonderful freebies on public sites!  So not sure that she will have more for us.  But in the case of both of these artists their digis are not expensive!  So you really should go and check up their work and encourage them.

Kozo was so much fun to color up since he's wearing clothes that go with lots of colors!  So I paired him up with left over paper from a previous card.  I used my wonka rectangles from nestabilities to cut out Kozo and the green shape.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
  1. Bearly mine-challenge - Anything goes
  2. Die cuttin divas - buttons, banners&/or birthday (I went for the birthday instead of the banner)
  3. Sweet stamps blog - Anything goes
  4. Crafting for all seasons - celebration with button
  5. Paper pretties blog - Bright bold colors
  6. Robyns fetish challenge blog - Birthday card with sentiment n the front
Hope you liked my card and that it will inspire you to join this week at Tammy scrapin corner.  Can't wait to see your entries.

Can't wait to see your comments and loooove to see new followers ;)

The sentiment that I paired with this great image comes from Krafin Kimmie.

Saturday, May 26, 2012

Hello Everyone!  It's been awhile since I last posted... It's because I did some cards for my DT work... and not supposed to show them yet ;0  Plus last night I had a gala for the volunteer work my daughter did.  And she won!  She was soooo excited.

So today I did 2 cards that were requested from a colleague.  The 1st one is for her sister's b-day.  And she wanted a big card 8"1/2 x 11".... never made a card so big!  So I was really scared of messing it up.  I'm really happy with the result.  I hope she will be as well:
The lady in question travels from Montréal to Toronto, Vancouver and Paris and works at Clarins.  What do you think?  Did it turn out good?

The second request was for her real estate agent who bought her house.
It doesn't show in the picture but it's much smaller than the previous card lol.

So I really hope that my colleague likes them.... I'm sending her the link to this blog soon.

For now I'm about to go and enjoy my pool ;)

See you later alligator.

ohhh and I almost forgot.  A big welcome to the new followers!!! So happy when I see that I have new ones ;)))

Little birthday angels

Hello everyone!!!!  I missed my blog.  Yesterday and today I was in meetings all day and last night I had a school board meeting.... those are very long day!  Especially after being able to craft for 4 days.  So I really missed it.

Tonight I created a card that was requested by my SIL.  She wanted a birthday card for her mom.  And asked if it could be Victorian type.  I figured that I should use a beautiful silhouette image by Floppy Latte Design.  You can find it at Stichy bear stamps.  It has two wonderful little angels.

For those of you that follow my blog you will know that my SIL just had 2 months ago beautiful twins.  A boy and a girl.  This image reminded me of them.  I figured that this would be perfect for the grandma ;)

To create this I used some of my new nestabilities shape.  I also added some Robin's nest dew drops.

I followed this great sketch:

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

  1. Stampin for the weekend - Sketch
  2. One stitch at a time challenge - Anything goes
  3. Crafts 4 eternity - wonderful wings
  4. Fairy tale - things with wings
I hope you liked!!!!  And I sure hope my SIL likes it as well!

Also in parting note please go and check out Jacksons digital expressions the challenge is always Anything goes.  This week the twist is a great sketch and/or dual colors.

Big hugs to all!

This is my 1st time to use a La la land craft stamp!  So much fun to color.  I added some stickles to her bows, and the gift.  I used K&Cie paper a nestabilitie gromet tag.

Birthday Girl Megan

We really are blessed for our Victoria day weekend.  It's another BEAUTIFUL day!!!!  And while my hubby is taking care of setting up the pool... I decided to do a card that was requested from a colleague.

It's funny because her daughter is named Megan and she's turning 13th just like my own daughter... so when my Megan saw the card she thought it was for her lol but no... it wasn't.  The little teenager that it is for loves fashion and shopping.  I had just the perfect image.  It's Susanna Shopper from Digi Darlas.  She was a digi made to raise money for a good cause.  So I couldn't resist.  This is the 2nd time that I used her in one of my posts.  The mom is quite a funny lady and keeps saying weird things... So it was fitting to put a bilingual birthday wish.

To be even more perfect Digi Darlas are doing a sketch this week! So this was a fabulous way of using my image.  And to top of the wonderful, paper pretties had a challenge to use your school colors.  Well... I haven't been in school for awhile... but my high school (Bishop's College School) colors were purple.  So this was really fitting because the Megan loves purple!  How cool is that.

Are you curious yet to see my card?!? lol here it is:
I used nestabilities scallop circle as well as a charm I got from Stamp and Create!  Love that on-line store.  I used some bling I got from the dollar store and the paper is from K&cie.

I followed this wonderful sketch:

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
  1. Digi darlas - sketch
  2. Paper pretties blog - school colors
  3. Send a smile 4 kids - Anything goes
  4. Little miss muffet challenges - anything goes
  5. That craft place blog - monochromatic
  6. The poodles parlour - monochromatic
I really hope that the recipient will like her birthday card!

Thanks for your wonderful comments!!!

Here's my card for it:
To make this card I used Lion Love from Bugaboo.  I also used paper from My mind's eye lost and found.  It was very fitting I thought since it included little crowns ;)  Great for the king and queen of the jungle no?!?  I used my Tim Holtz distress tool on the edge and put distress vintage photo on the edge of the picture.

Here's a closer look:

I used for the 1st time my bow easy!!!  OMG if I had only known before that this tool existed!  I made a double loop bow for this card... what can I say when I start I needed to make a double impression lol

I followed this sketch:

I hope that you will be joining us at Tammy scrapin corner it's so therapeutic to be distressing paper... so much better than going to a shrink ;))))

Birthday card

Wow another wonderful day in Montreal.  And my hubby is back from his mom!!!  So happy to have him back.

This morning I gave in to my youngest son William... He had planted some seeds at school for tomatoes and other vegetables... unfortunately nothing much happened with them.  He was quite disappointed.  So I went with him and bought a bunch of plants.  I had promised myself not to do so this year because when we come back from camping, the plants all look sad... after 2 weeks without care.  But he soooo wanted to have some flowers and I must admit to liking them as well so I ended up buying loooots lol

Now I have to transplant them all but it's way toooo hot right now outside to do so.  So it was the perfect time to make a little card.  Usually I would have taken some sun but the pools not started yet... and without it, it's not as much fun.  Plus it's way cooler in my scrapbooking room.

I made a little birthday card for the sister of one of my colleague.

I used my Lil Spanish Lolita Willow digi from Tickled Pink.  I also used a nestabilitie shape I think it's label 20 and used a nestability die for the leaves under the rose ;)  It's from a brand new set that I purchased last week.  I love it because it also embossed the veins on the leaves.  I put some Robin's nest dew drops.  The paper and the rose are from a pack that I got as a freebie at Scrap en Masse.

I also used my sewing machine again on the rectangles.

I followed this amazing sketch:

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
  1. Totally paper crafts - sketch
  2. Simply create too - feminine card
  3. Joanna sheen challenge - birthday
  4. Daisy doodles creative challenges - flowers (this is my 2nd entry)
  5. Die cuttin divas - flowers
Hope you liked it!  And I especially hope my colleague likes the card ;)

Going to plant those flowers now... William keeps bugging me and asking me if it's time... feels like I'm on a road trip... with ARE WE THERE YET?!?

Peanut twins

Last week while I was visiting my SIL and my gorgeous little niece and nephew (who will both be turning 2 months old this week) her neighbor brought her a gift for the babies.  I had previously made a series of cards for them but they were now out.  So she asked if I could make one for the neighbor to give thanks.

Today while I was choosing the images at Bugaboo that I had won at Send a smile 4 kids, I came across the perfect image for this card!  Instead of stamping 2 babies, I could just do one cute little digi.

The digi from Bugaboo is Peanut twins.  Aren't they just adorable?  I used the rest of the paper from the cards that I had made for them.  I used a baby diaper pin because I just think this screams BABY!  I also added to the right corner some Robin's Nest dew drops in white, you don't see them much in the picture but they add a nice touch.  I sewed the orange and the checked paper... doesn't show much in the picture however... but the recipient will be able to see it.  And that's what matters.

I followed this sketch:

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
  1. Sketch and stash challenge - Sketch
  2. Belli challenge - Baby arrival
  3. Fussy and fancy challenge - new baby
I really hope that my SIL likes the card!  That's it for me for tonight.  I hope that you have enjoyed my work and please don't  forget to leave a comment they are so very much appreciated.

I also noticed that I have a few new followers!  A big hello to the new ones and the old ;)

Happy bird

What a GORGEOUS day out here in Montreal!!!!  I enjoyed tending my flower bed this morning with my youngest son ;)  It was fun.  Then I started making some of my DT cards.  I actually made 2!

One for Tammy scrapin corner.  BTW there's still time to join in this weeks challenge which is show me your flowers!

And the other card is for Jacksons digital expressions challenge.   It's always anything goes but the twist this week is altered art.  Go and check it out!

So of course I can't show them to you yet ;)  But I've made another card.  This week while browsing the wonderful sites I came across this one Doodle pantry blog they had wonderful freebie digi to use for their challenge.  I couldn't pass it up.  Just had to make a card for it.  I think it turned out to be one of my favorite ones so far.
Isn't he just soooo sweeeeeet!  The digi is called cdd Happy bird 2 and the sentiment is cdd I'm so happy.  I used some papers that  I had from previous cards.  I actually used my sewing machine.  I had not done this for a very long time.  The last time I had really messed up my needle by going over the glue line :/  Let me just say I was extra careful this time!

I also used black buttons and added yellow ones on top!  The reason is I was following this wonderful color inspiration:

And I followed this sketch:

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

Please be kind with me tonight ;)  I saw that the stamping boutique had a really fun challenge... but it involved doodling.  Now of course we all do it... but to put it out there on a card and show it to the world that's much different.

Of course those of you who know me, know that I just loooove doing something new... even to the risk of making fun of myself.  There was of course a great Stella says sketch that I really wanted to do... so with the layering the doodling doesn't show as much that's a really good thing ;)))  Here's my card:
The paper under it all is my doodling ;)  The rest is some scraps.  I used the lattice square nestabilities.  I used my gorgeous freebie from Bugaboo digi called Butbearsit.  Isn't he cuuuuute!   I went totally CRAZY with the stickles...  Here's a closer look:
Yes... did the wings with blue and crystal stickles... then did the purple bowtie as well...

I followed this sketch:
SSS 110

I'm entering in the following challenges:

  1. Stella-says-sketch - sketch
  2. Catchthebugblog - things with wings
  3. The stamping boutique challenge - doodling
  4. Simon says stamp and show - Anything goes
  5. Bearly mine - dies

  7. Flourishes - I picked the letter "B", I have a bear, bling and black ;)
  8. Lej designs challenge - lots of layers
  9. Sundays with crissy - things with wings
So I hope that you liked the doodling... even if there's not that much that shows ;)  That turned out fine for the 1st time going out in public like that.  I feel like the 1st time you show off in a bikini... lol

Please let me know what you think about my card!  Thanks to all of you who are my followers! ;)  Just love reading all of you.

Have a wonderful night!

This weekend is my previous boss birthday.  I really wanted to make something for him.  He is such a wonderful inspiration at work.

Here's my card for him:

For my followers you saw that I made a card last night with some soft blue colors.  I used the rest of that paper for this card.  It's from K& Cie.  Here's my card:
