Our favorite things

I'm back for one last post.  This one will have lots of pictures however.  It's a little album that I made using some paper bags for signatures and some cardboard box for the cover.  I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

I made all kinds of sections and then had the 6 of us write on a little card what was our favorite things.

So here's the cover I used a bunch of different tags and papers from my stash as well as from Simple stories.  Love those little sentiments and things.

The letters are from October afternoon.  I used a little brad and ribbon as the closer.
Here's the side view of all the signatures tied together.  As mentioned all the signature were done with some paper bags.  I used some metal beads as well.
Here's the backview of the album.  I used some paper that I wrinkled up and some old book pages as well.
 Here's the look opened up.
The 1st section was about the favorite season.

I used a great digi from the set Snow family set one from Rick St-Dennis

And here's a view of the next signature next to the season one.
For the sport one I used a digi from Lacy Sunshine as the cover

The next section was about movies.

Then I made one about tv shows.

The following one was about music

Then one about games (I used some Yu gi oh cards as the decoration
As well as some bingo chips and some playing cards.
After that it was about food!

I used the great digi from Simply Betty that was a freebie for the ending of that signature.
And my last signature was about books.  I used some comic book cut out for that one.

I'm pretty happy with how this turned out!!!  It was a fun project and allowed me to capture some memories for the family!!!

I'm entering this album in the following challenges:

  1. 613 avenue create - Anything goes with option of pearl or rose - there's a pearl at the top of the closure brad
  2. ATW  - Anything goes
  3. 2 creative chicks - Anything goes
  4. Crafty hazelnuts patterned paper - Lots and lots of pattern papers were used in this book
  5. Doodle artifacts - Recycle, repurpose reinvent - that's what I did here for the cereal box for the cover
  6. Rhedds creative spirit - Mixed media
That's it for me!  Have a great day.

Afternoon Aileen - Art by Mi Ran

Well the new showcase challenge over at Art By Mi Ran is anything but a square card!  And if you have followed me you know that I'm working on a coffee altered children book.  This was a great occasion to do something on this.

The image that I used is Afternoon Aileen.  She was just perfect for my little book!
Digital Stamp - Afternoon Aileen, Digi Stamp, Coloring page, Printable Line art for Card and Craft Supply
I used a new paint call Verday Paint on this to make it look like metal  on some left over scrounge up papers from a box.  I used some prima chalk all around the page to give a bit of a distressed look.  I used my spellbinder large circle to cut out the sentiment.  The sentiments come from Create with TLC

Voodoo King and Voodoo Queen from SLS Lines

I really love the new release images from SLS Lines you can get them Voodoo King and Voodoo Queen and I just thought they would be perfect for making some little door hangers.

I found those door hangers that you can use chalk on at the dollar store.  And just thought I would make something with them for sure!  At the time I wasn't sure. And when I saw this great couple of images I just knew this would be perfect for my son and his girlfriend!

I left the chalk on them but changed the boring elastic for some hair band that I thought would be more fun.

The letters that I used are from Anna Griffin and from October Afternoon.  I colored the 2 images with my copics and then fussy cut them out.
They came out pretty cool and they were well liked by the recipients so that's all that matters really isn't it?!?

Peace Angel

If you are part of the FB group of Rick St-Dennis Digis and Friends you have seen the great challenge that Rick put out there.... and if you didn't well you should be part of the group so that you don't miss out the next time around!!!!!!

His challenge was to send an e-mail to him and to put cute/dark/surprise in the title and he would pick what to send to us.  I put surprise of course because I really love being challenged.  That's how I learn and do stuff different!

And I just had to smile when I got my digi because Rick sent me Peace Angel.  And since my depression some peace would be totally awesome in my mind.... I've been doing lots of darker pages of what's in my mind lol so this was a nice change!

I tried something different... I made some masks of clouds with some post its.  Then I used my Bashful blue, brilliant blue and ballet blue from Stampin up.  I applied it all over and then sprayed a bit of water to be able to blend it better.

Cheese please

My next mini post is about the cute little digi for the great progressive challenge over at Gerda steiner designs.

This time around I made a little toilet paper midori album for a swap.  There's lots of videos out there that show it to you and I did share one in a previous post on Monday.

I used some paper from an amazon purchase to crush it all up and create the faux letter effect.

The closure is done with elastic bands for hair.  I added some little charms to the side.  The sentiment was done using October afternoon letters.

Here's a look at the back of it
and the open version with lots of little tags and all kinds of fun things
I used a bunch of papers and things that I got in packages from friends and from swaps.

That's it entering this little make in the progressive challenge Gerda steiner designs.

My prince

This time I have something to share with you that will not be entered in a challenge... it was made just for me for the fun of it.

I told you guys that I had taken a class with dylusion paint and sprays with the great Gisel Cabral over at Scrapbook Central.  That class really help put some color in a very bleery day for me.... and so I did the 2 pages for the class... but then I played while others were working shhhhhh.... with the left over paint that I had and I came up with this page with the great silhouette.

I had no clue what to do with that page.... until I came across that little frog in a magazine that I was reading.  And there is the finished page.  Just for the fun of it.

I figured I would share some doodling just for the fun of it.... :)

Diver Daniel

I'm going to do some very very fast posts this morning because well I haven't really felt like blogging much but I really want to make sure to enter those makes in the progressive challenge!

Here's the cute little digi Diver Daniel from Deedee Anderson that I used in my camping smash book.  I thought he would make a perfect little decoration to a future page.

I used the precolored version that made it even better for me!

I used a sizzix ornament label die to cut out the sentiment and used a great sentiment as well from Create with tlc that I thought would be great for this opening page!

I'm entering this in the progressive challenge of DeeDee Challenge

I have some more little short short post coming :)
