Our favorite things

Image
I'm back for one last post.  This one will have lots of pictures however.  It's a little album that I made using some paper bags for signatures and some cardboard box for the cover.  I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I made all kinds of sections and then had the 6 of us write on a little card what was our favorite things. So here's the cover I used a bunch of different tags and papers from my stash as well as from Simple stories.  Love those little sentiments and things. The letters are from October afternoon.  I used a little brad and ribbon as the closer. Here's the side view of all the signatures tied together.  As mentioned all the signature were done with some paper bags.  I used some metal beads as well.  Here's the backview of the album.  I used some paper that I wrinkled up and some old book pages as well.  Here's the look opened up.  The 1st section was about the favorite season.  I use...

Boxing Betty - Last DT make

Image
Hello everyone!  This is a pretty sad post as it will be my last one with Simply Betty.  The DT was dismantled.... I'll miss it because it was great fun!  Oh well more time for other creative venue right?!? Anyway here's my make with the great Boxing Betty.  When I saw this digi I totally envisioned her in a ring.  So for the 1st time I drew something... I don't usually do that... but I had fun doing it.  I used my new neocolors for the page with the come watch the fight.  I did some texture using some old dress patterns that I scrunged up!!! Learning soooooo much right now and having fun trying it out... just wish I had more energy to do stuff....  Used to be able to do so much more... but I digress. Here's my make.  It was colored with my copics.  The ring background was done using my pan pastels. Here's a closer look at my scrunged up page.  I have never done graffiti so I had to practice lol.  I actually had to get u...

Never give up Nadine - Tuesday Solo

Image
If you are here for the Faery Ink blog hop you need to go here . Hello everyone!  There's a brand new solo going on over at  Simply Betty  and this time around the solo is Never give up Nadine. I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to make a journal page about women and how strong we are!  There are so many suffering from Cancer and fighting for their lives.  This is to celebrate those! To make this layout I decided to use my oil pastels!  And did some doodling with the use of a Fiskar stencil.  I used baby oil to spread the oil pastels around.  I really love the effect of this.  I added a left over piece of paper from my stash.  I used some brads as well from Eyelet outlet.  I made a little tag with my magnolia die and used some dusty concord distress ink all around it.  I added a little twine from my stash to the tag.  The little bling is from a tape purchased at Michael's.  I used a bunch of stamp...

Happy Mother's day to all mother's out there!

Image
I want to start by wishing all the wonderful mother's that read my blog a very Happy Mother's day!  It will be quiet here.... with the excitement of the hockey game last night (Montreal won) I had lots of trouble falling asleep... I started making list again... and then thought of work... and then got up to take a pill to calm my head and finally got some sleep.  But with that being said I'm pretty tired. My hubby will be installing my new air purification system in our bedroom!  Hopefully this will help with my allergies that I totally didn't help by bringing little Leo home with us... but he's so sweet and such a joy to be around that I really want this to work. Anyway I'm here to share with you a little ICAD (supposed to be index card a day) but I do them just whenever now.  They are really fun I discovered them via the FB group of International Crafters - Those ladies show the very best tutorials all the time and they are so kind and helpful!  Love love...
