Happy Mother's Day - Birdbrain style :)

I want to start out this post by wishing all the wonderful mother's out there a fabulous Mother's day!  I really hope you get spoiled in all kinds of little ways.

I made a little mother's day card using a great image from the heart stamps called Bouquet chick.  I thought it would be totally perfect for making a little mother's day card.

I colored the fab image withe my copics.  The image was cut out with a grand label 11 from Spellbinder and I used my scallop and circle dies from Spellbinder for the sentiments.  I added a little double ribbon bow and some bling.  The paper is from Oh la la for her by my mind's eye.  I really love how bright and cheerful this came out :)

I'm entering this in the following challenges:
  1. From the heart stamps - Sketch or twist - I did the twist with the ribbon
  2. Open-minded crafting fun - Easter/spring or pastel - this is pastel and would also be perfect for spring :)
  3. Come and get it challenge - Card for a woman
  4. Crafting when we can challenges - add flowers - there's lots on that little image
  5. Brown sugar challenge - Mother's day
That's it!  I just wanted to wish you all a great Mother's day!!!

Quick little shares for progressive challenges

Hello everyone!  I'm camping and we have had an amazing time here.  This week as been especially awesome weather!!!!  I don't want it to end..... I know that I'm still vulnerable... I get tired easy but with camping the beat is so much slower that it doesn't show as much!

I wanted to share with you 2 makes before the progressive challenges come to an end and I will be late.... I did both... but yeah having trouble blogging.... just seem to be doing nothing but sitting in the sun and watching my kids play!  It's been awhile since I have done just that without feeling guilty!

My 1st make for you is for the Outlawz progressive challenge and it's an image from Blueberry bear.  I thought it would be totally perfect for my junk journal that I made for a friend of mine.

I just think this image is soooo cute!  And I used my copics to color it up.  I used some of my cards from project life and some sentiment from simple stories.  I also added some text book on the background of this page.  The rest was done on some junk mail that was colored using my gelli plates and acrylics paints!

My 2nd make was used in my camping journal and was just perfect for today since we did spend a whole lot of time in the pool.  From the heart stamps just had the cutest little image this month!!!
I used some stickers that I had in my stash forever and a great sentiment from Create with TLC.

Hope you have a great day and a great week!

short little post

I'm going to be doing some very short little posts... I've been doing some ATCs to include in pocket letters and of course being a card maker initially I just can't seem to not put an image on mine... so I'm sharing a few that I made to enter miscellaneous challenges and I'm about to miss the deadlines... yeah.... haven't been blogging much it seems  I used to blog over 70 times a month and now I can barely do 50.... yikes... you can tell that I'm not out of the woods yet.

Anyway this is not about me it's about my little makes!

So here's my 1st one for the from the heart progressive challenge I though this would make a fab little ATC  For this I tore the sentiment out and edged it with some dysty concord.  I also tore a few strips of papers as well.  The background was made using my gelli plate (for the 1st time!)
My next one is using a fab little image from A day for daisies, I haven't played in awhile and thought it would be fun to do so.  So I used 3 different ovals in pattern paper to fit with their challenge going on. the ovals are from Nellie's ovals.  The ATC background was done using a glossy photo paper sheet and some homemade alcool inks :) and then I used a stamp to do the frame with some jet black archival inks.  The image, Fairy flower outing, was colored with my copics and some stickles.
and here's the last one that I'm sharing today and this one is to enter in the Sami Stamps anything goes challenge it's using butterfly flower.  It's the same background paper as the previous one.  I used my Nellie's rectangle and colored with my copics and some stickles.
So I'm entering these in their respective challenges over at:
From the heart stamp - Progressive challenge
A day for daisies - 3 pattern papers
Sami stamp - Anything goes

Little card album

I'm back!  This time to share a project that I made and that includes 2 images for progressive challenges that I participate in.  I don't want to miss this and cutting it close to the deadline... that seems to be my new me!  Always last minute....  It's more the blogging that takes time and well don't do it as much!

For this I followed the fab tutorial from Paola Joffre that you can find here.  If you haven't subscribe to her videos you really should they are super interesting and you learn lots.  You should also join the My Whimsical little world FB group it's a riot in there.
This album will be for my stepmom.  So I'm sharing the inside and will be sharing the top for a DT post later on.

As you know if you have followed me my stepmom loves coffee and rabbits :)
So I used an image of a rabbit that was part of the trio of images from the Heart stamps last month as part of the progressive challenge.  The little girl with coffee is from Gerda progressive challenge.

The paper is from Head over heels by Lily Bee design.  I used a bunch of tags from Fancy Pants -Collecting moments and Prima tag me.  We will be using those to write our message to my stepmom because there wasn't much room for it in the album itself.  I added some metal coner embellishments and put a bunch of ribbons to the tags.

Here's a closer look of to the tags that are next to the little rabbit.  I put some sentiments from Create with TLC throughout the book and the back of the tags.  I also used a sentiment from Gingers house
And here are the other tags were we will be writing.  I used the super cute little digi from this month's progressive challenge over at from the Heart stamps and used my fancy tag 2 to cut out one of the sentiments that came with it!  There are also more sentiments from Create with TLC

I'm entering this little card/album in the following challenges:

  1. From the heart stamps - Stamp of the month challenge
  2. Gerda steiner designs - Progressive challenge
  3. Digitally sweet challenges - Anything goes
  4. Simply papercrafts for all occassions - Anything goes or lots of layers well both :)
  5. The stamping boutique challenge blog - Ribbon and or lace - used lots of ribbon
That's it for me folks.  Hope you have a great Sunday.

Hugs

Little snowman

Oh my... were does the time go?!?  It shows I haven't been feeling all that good because there's much less post this year than last year!  And I'm almost late for my post for the progressive challenge of From the heart stamp.  And since I so love those images I didn't want not to play....

So I went super easy and followed their great sketch.  I didn't even use DP only some washi tape which is pretty fun since I never use them.

Christmas Spirit

Merry Christmas everyone!!! Thank you so much for all your wonderful comments my dear followers.  It really does make my day.  And I get so excited when I see that I have new followers :)

I wanted to give you my good wishes while participating at From the heartstamps progressive challenge.

I have to  admit that it's a good thing that coffee exists... because I still don't have my energy level back... and I would totally be non functional without it lol

For this make I used the great image to make the calendar page for my hubby's gift calendar.  It's nice to be doing something different with the digis and to know that he will be seeing my art every month!

Owls on fence

Hello!  I hope you are having a great weekend!  Here we have our kids all back!  It's nice to be a full house.  They (the 3 youngest who were away) got a cold... of course.. .but they were camping with the scouts... and it was raining... and cold.  Not the best of times to be out in the wild.

Anyway they have some great stories now to share with us :)  And I'm just glad to have them back lol even if I know that after a few days... I'll want to send them away again!

So I'm here this Sunday because I want to share with you a little card that I made with one of the great images from From the heart stamps.  I did this one with an image that I had colored sometime back it's called Owls on Fence.  I really love that image and it was sold at a very low price at the time.

Super bird Brain

Hello everyone!  It's Friday night... late Friday night!  And yes I'm blogging... well I don't want to go to bed just yet... I want to make sure that I really sleep well... These days I seem to have some issues with "work" related dreams.. and end up being more tired when I get up then when I went to bed.  So hopefully by going to bed later I should be ok!

I'm here to share with you a little card that I made for the new challenge over at From the heart I did the sketch and twist as well as the progressive challenge (that's the freebie image for this month if you did the last month's challenge).  I really want to be able to play next month!!!  I soooo love their images.

This time the image set is Super Bird Brain.  And of course he would have been super for Father's day... but since I had all my cards done already I decided to make him into a b-day card!  The twist as doing a spotlight technique which I hadn't done in awhile! It was great fun!

So for my card I used the Hamlet pig wit think spring!  So looking forward to spring.  And today as I was out, it was cold but it smelled like spring!  Or maybe it was just me wishing....rofl
