Simple little card

Image
As challenges take place, I'm creating a stack of cards that I will be able to give away as gifts (if no one takes them before hand lol).  This is one of those little cards for all occasions. I used one of my little owls from Greeting Farms that I got as a candy from Stamp and Create ;)  I just looove that set.  As you can see in previous posts I use it a lot!  I used this sketch to make it: I'm entering this card in the following challenges: Mojo monday  - Sketch Splendid stamping  - Classic pattern (there's strips and polka dots) Crafty ribbons challenge  - Things with wings and ribbon Paper play challenges  - Things with wings Totally papercrafts  - Things with wings Top tip tuesday  - dotty or spotty Now I'm pretty sure that I can still make one more before the end of the weekend ;) Vicky xo

Lil French Lolita Lilith

Image
I think I made the card that I like the most so far.  I had won some time back the new digi Lil Lolita images from Tickled Pink.  They are sooo cute.  And I was waiting for the right card to use them.  I found a challenge that was asking for just this.  I'm really really really happy with the result if I may say so myself. When the cute little digi's came on I had seen on one of the DT's work that they had used playing cards.  I thought that was an amazing idea.  With 4 kids there's always some cards that end up missing in sets... and I toss them away.  What a great way to re-use them!   And to top it off, I had discovered last week while going to a Zellers (which is being turned into Target soon) a pack of charms for 1$.  One of them was a little playing card.  I told myself that I would not be using that for awhile... couldn't figure out what to use it for.  Well this was the PERFECT opportunity!!!!  I used this sketch to make it: I'm entering it in

Last little card for the night

Image
I managed to make a last little card for the night.  I was still in the reuse what you have mode... so I used a bunch of the scrap paper that I had and I created a card that would fit the sketch that I had not yet completed. To make this card I used like I mentioned scraps of papers and ribbon and a little hedgehog stamp from Penny Black.   I made it using this sketch:   I'm entering it in the following challenges: Especially made  - Sketch Crafty catz weekly challenge  - Animal (my little Penny black hedgehog fits right in ;) ) Penny black at all sorts  - oh so cute (my 3rd entry) Fab n funky challenges  - on all four ;) well mine is running... but i'm sure it still counts lol I'm really happy with my day.  It was a busy one with the cleaning, laundry, driving my daughter to volunteer work and back but I still managed to do a lot of projects.  So it was good ;) See you tomorrow. I decided to create a small gift for my daughter.  It's a bookmark ;)  I was wondering what I could do to created something for the Forever Night challenge.  And I realized that I could do something that would please my daughter!  She loves to read.  Especially vampire books... must admit the apple did not fall far from the tree lol  And she keeps loosing her bookmarks (that she did not get from me).  Here's my creation: She was soooo happy with it ;)  But my sons were not... now they have made a list lol  Not sure I can keep up wiht the demand. I'm entering this one for the  Forevernight challenges . Vicky xo

Happy Birthday - Bonne Fête

Image
OK so now I pledged on this web site  Lady of lost times crafts  unfortunately when I looked at the recent post she is mentioning that she will not be blogging for awhile.... oh well I still think the sentiment is good.  I should try to use what I have as much as possible!  I'm not saying that I will not be buying anything because that is just impossible lol but I will be trying to keep on doing post like this one where I used scrap material.  I got the idea from Hiding in my craft room.  It was a super scrap challenge. So use up what you have.  And I managed anyway to make a card that would fit a few challenges and I think it looks pretty good if I say so myself! I had the stamp Whipper snapper Birthday cake for awhile but it had yest to be inked.  So I did that but I removed the sentiment since I wanted to make it a French card.  I reused the paper from previous projects, even the circles... you can tell that I change my mind a few times on the size lol but I kept all the piec

Sponging away

This morning I found a great technique while looking for some challenge.  It actually is a challenge to use the technique.  How fabulous is that!  So of course I had to try it out. I'm really happy with the CAS look that I ended up getting.  I was going for something else... but once again my card just wasn't getting where it was supposed to so I let it become what it wanted lol.  I used Rangers Distress Spiced Marmalade for the sponging technique as well as for the flower that's on the blue. The color choice came from: And the sketch from: I'm entering this one in the following challenges: Cas-ualfridays  - color combo Freshly made sketches  - sketch Just us girls challenge  - Sponging technique It was a really fun technique.  Ended up with ink all over my hands... but I'm a messy crafter when it comes to inks lol.
