WOYWW - May 29th 2013

Well I really wanted to participate this week at WOYWW so I took some pictures before I left for PEI of what was on my desk to  be able to post this Wednesday.

The bad thing is that my house was broken into this past Monday... my daughter came home to a broken front door!!!  My jewelery was stolen including some items from my MIL who passed away last summer... our passports as well are gone!  Nobody got hurt that's the good thing.

My hubby told me my drawers and personal items were all looked through by the thief...  From what he said the rest of the house was intact.... so technically this is still what's on my desk... I'll see when I get back home tonight from my business trip... I'll be washing all my clothes!!!!   I really really feel violated right now.

So yes back to this post... it's my ATCs for the exchange ;)  But not showing you the front!  I made 8 so I have 7 to exchange extras if you are interested please let me know so that I may contact you!  I've been waiting a year for this event!!!!  lol

Have a great Wednesday and please hope that my flight back and my discovery of my house is not too much of a shock... already didn't sleep at all Monday night...

Hugs

  3. Oh Vicky, poor you, it is not nice to be broken into. It has happened to me before and you feel so violated and the thiefs don't even think about you and what they are stealing. They don't realise that many items may have sentimental attachment or memories attached to things that they have stolen. As that is it, they are just "things" to them!!! I know that it is difficult, but just try to put this behind you. It's ok for me to say that, as it didn't happen to me. As you say at least no-one was hurt, hopefully you can replace some items but not all especially the things that you had that belonged to your MIL. I can't say online exactly what I think of these no-good people who break into other people's houses. Do you know the saying 'what goes around, comes around', they will get there just rewards when the time is right!!!
Just know that there are people thinking about you and you are always in our thoughts and prayers. Hugs, Jen :-) xx

  7. Oh Vicky I know how it feels for you home to be broken into. It is such a violation and you will find it hard for a while. The thieves have no feelings for sentimental valuables at all. Items you cannot replace are just a means of making cash for them and it is cash that is probably wasted on drugs or drink, not to feed their families. I do sympathise.
I am wishing that our on line celebrations for the 4th anniversary of WOYWW will cheer you and I would love to swap an atc if you still have some spare. Just email me with your mail address if you can.
    Best wishes Jo x

  9. Hi Vicky
OMG how dreadful for you and your family I am so very sorry that this has happened to you. I can understand what you are saying about feeling violated.
I hope you and your family can find strength from each other to help you through this and I hope the person who did it gets caught and you get your stuff back.

  11. Vicky, I'm so sorry to hear about your break in. And you are right- it's the things that have sentimental value that just can't be replaced. At least no one was hurt if they would have come when someone was home. Good luck in the recovery.

  14. I just can't imagine what you are going through. We had our car stolen once and taken for a joy ride and then dumped with beer bottles and muck and grass (the non smoking kind) all over the place, and that was enough of a feeling of being violated. A home is a whole other issue. These creeps obviously came in with a goal in mind if they didn't go after all the big ticket items. I'm so sorry that you and your family are having to deal with this. Know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

    Big hugs,
    Lisa

p.s. good thing you got the washing machine fixed!

  15. Hi Vicky and Happy WOYWW! Hope that you get home and things are not too bad. I remember my family being robbed when I was young and you truly do feel violated knowing that someone has gone through all your personal belongings.
Looks like you are the recipient of my anniversary ATC. Just drop me an email at scrapworx@hotmail.ca and I will pop it in the mail.
    Hugs and good wishes,
    Michelle

  20. Oh Vicky I'm so very sorry to hear you've been broken into. It's the value of special things that can't be replaced and the fact that your things have been handled that makes it all so difficult. I'm sending you a big hug.
I have spare ATCs if you'd like to swap....just send me your details to wipso@toucansurf.com if you'd like to put ?France on my map [see my last week's WOYWW post if you don't know what I mean :-) ].
Happy 4th Birthday celebrations...and here's to many more.

  22. I’m sorry to be late in visiting but I’m still on my quest to get round everyone this week. I know it’s going to take some time, but I wanted to say that it’s amazing that the internet can bring together so many likeminded people and I’m grateful that WOYWW has also brought along so many new friends, thanks to Julia.

Oh Vicky, what a shock. I so pleased that no was there and got hurt but it doesn’t detract from the fact that some low life had the audacity to enter your homo and riffle through your belongings and take things that were sentimental to you and can never be replaced. Let’s hope the catch the *%$£@2d’s.
On a happier note, your desk was looking great and the ATC’s look very interesting.

Enjoy your weekly snoop, especially as we’re celebrating WOYWW’s 4th Anniversary.
    Happy Crafting!

  24. I'm so sorry about the break-in, Vicky. What makes certain people believe they have the right to do that kind of thing? Next, I'll freely admit that I'd never be brave enough to take a pic of my work area -- far too messy. lol
Then, I'm extending my apologies for not commenting on each of your recent posts. I love all your cards. As usual, you've been wonderfully productive and I have managed to browse through all of them. I'm just so far behind on visiting my fav blogs, what with having been gone so much, but I'm determined to get around to everyone. Hugs, and I hope your return home is a better experience than what happened.

  25. That is horrible, I was going to say HAPPY WOYWW, but maybe not so happy for you.
