New ideas for 2020

Oh boy oh boy.... 2019 has come and almost gone without any content at ALL on my blog.  If this was like one of my favorite ninendo video game "Animal Crossing" there would be ton of weeds and bugs on here :) It's been a very very busy time in 2018 and 2019 with home renos and a lot of learning on my part.  I have also rediscovered stuff that I really enjoyed doing in the past like canning.  But I took it to another level by doing pressure canning this year not just water bath. I have been binge watching prepper, how-to, zero waste videos.  They have altered a lot of the way that I think and made me think on how to save money and eat healthier.  I have started making a lot of items from scratch like bread. My outside work place has also been time consuming.  We got a lot of different government audit and I was the person responsible for managing them.  I ended up getting promoted to Finance director.  For the biggest part of the year I had empty positions in my depa

Happy birthday card!

OMG it's been FOREVER since I have posted here.  I had such great intention at the beginning of the year and then well that never happened.  It's been quite a year as you would know if you follow me on Youtube. But it's not the same to actually post a story here. Anyway I needed to make a b-day card and the image from the East Wind was just PERFECT for this!  You can find her here .  I don't color much with my copics anymore.  Some of my markers are clogging up.... sad really.  I have been doing so much more mix media. The paper that I used is probably discontinued before  but it was Kaiser Craft Lush.  You might still be able to find some on E-bay.  That's the best to find the stuff that you can't get your hands upon.  That or maybe some destashing.  I think this was the 1st time that I used that paper pack!  How bad is that?!?  I know I used to do so many more cards than I do now.  Now I mostly do videos about using your scraps!  Something that we have l

Goodluck card

Hello!  Hope you are staying warm and safe.  We have been battling crazy cold weather here.  Well in keeping with my resolution here is another post just for the blog that won't be shown on my channel. One of my colleagues gave her resignation before the holidays and her last working day was the 2nd of January.  I figured it would be nice to give her a card signed by the entire department.  So I prepared one.  I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to do.  I knew that she loves biking and I had a perfect stamp that had not yet been used.  I believe I had gotten this when it was on special with the thought of making her a b-day card.  Since that is not happening now it was the time to use it because who knows when I next will feel inspired with this stamp. Don't know about you but there are many stamps in my collection that are not being used and that should be used... all because I don't see the perfect opportunity and since I don't make card as often well this doesn

Fluff the dragon

Image
Hello!  The crickets have been having a field day on my blog... yes I know it's been so long since I have shared something just here just for you all that still follow my blog!  I wanted to 1st of all wish you all a very HAPPY NEW YEAR!  May 2018 bring you health and be filled with joy as well as crafty fun! When I saw the dragon image that Unky created for the East Wind, I just knew this would make a perfect card for my daughter that just ADORES dragon.  You can find the sweet image here . The background that I have used for this was made with a recycled envelope that I covered with paint and left over paper pieces!  You can find that on my youtube channel here if you are interested in making that: It's a great way to recycle and to make very cheap paper that is totally UNIQUE. Here is the card that I have made. The image was colored with some coloring pencils as well as gel pens.  I glued this on black cardstock to make it pop.  The sentiment was made by

Soul book start

Image
Well I finally did it!!!  I started out my soul book!  I'm so happy about that because I have been wanting to do something to document this year and having a hard time to commit to something. This seems like something that I can totally do.  I have found the soul book via the youtube channel of Christie B and you can also find her blog here . And I had been super lucky to have a great shop owner on Etsy give me one of her beautiful mandalas.  You can see the mandala that I used here .  It's from Coloring Craft Shack. I have made a video to share with you all my mental process through this.  It was quite emotional and unexpected.  I didn't start of thinking that I would do this entire page... it just happened. And here is the journaling spread that I have made. As my son said this is totally not my typical style... but I really love how it turned out.  It's the start page of the book.  I used some acrylic paints, a stencil, a stamp from Eclectica and some

Happy Friday to you all!  I'm so tired this week it's crazy... and we lose one sleeping hour on the weekend... that will be HARD lol.  But at least spring is coming and that is good.  Right now however it's still really really cold so we are still feeling as though it's still winter. Anyway, Sandra has made some great new release images!  And I'm sharing one with you all.  Just love it.  It was perfect to send a little hello to my stepmom who loves rabbits.  So I made her a postcard.  You can see the process here: and here is the look at the postcard finished!  It's a real mixed media piece because there's loads on there. The stamping was done with a silicone mat.  I have colored the image with my copics and then fussy cut her out.  The sentiment is an altered card that I got in a swap!  Just love it and needed to include it in my make.  I didn't want it to be fixed permanently because my swap partner made this beautiful on both sides... So really wanted to be able to still see the other side.  I used some washi tape to fix some acetate down to make a pocket.  That's why you see the glare. I'm entering this spread in the following challenges: Digi choo
