Peace Angel

Image
If you are part of the FB group of  Rick St-Dennis Digis and Friends  you have seen the great challenge that Rick put out there.... and if you didn't well you should be part of the group so that you don't miss out the next time around!!!!!! His challenge was to send an e-mail to him and to put cute/dark/surprise in the title and he would pick what to send to us.  I put surprise of course because I really love being challenged.  That's how I learn and do stuff different! And I just had to smile when I got my digi because Rick sent me Peace Angel .  And since my depression some peace would be totally awesome in my mind.... I've been doing lots of darker pages of what's in my mind lol so this was a nice change! I tried something different... I made some masks of clouds with some post its.  Then I used my Bashful blue, brilliant blue and ballet blue from Stampin up.  I applied it all over and then sprayed a bit of water to be able to blend it better.

RSD inspiration post with darker version beware!

Hello everyone!  I have a special post today for you I wasn't supposed to post today... but yesterday I finally finished my altered piece of furniture a Jewelry box that's fairly big and was perfect for my craft room....   Perfect except for the colors lol So what's special about this post?!?  Well I'm taking over on the Airless Chamber as well as the Sparkle and Glitter blogs to post part of this piece because I used a nice side and a not so nice side with the passage of time as my inspiration.  So here are the before and the after painting of the furniture piece. You can see that it wasn't really much of a reflection of me the before.... That distressing was a new technique for me... I wanted a crackled finish and used some glue to make it.  What I didn't realize at the time is that when the piece is standing up it makes a huge puddle of goo at the end.... so the front drawers came out better than the side....  But I wasn't discouraged I reapplied

Sparkle and Glitter midway progressive challenge - June

Image
I'm here to share with you my little make for the midway point of our progressive challenge over at  Sparkle and glitter with rick . You can get the great image for the progressive challenge here if you haven't played in last month's progressive challenge. I used the image without a sentiment.  I figured I would make my own and use one from  Create with TLC . I took a great class with some Dylusions paints and sprays.  And while doing the part for the sprays I made the background for this journal page.  I remembered that I had colored the perfect image for it!

Klub kidz - RSD

Image
I wasn't supposed to post today over at Sparkle and glitter with rick ... but yesterday I finally got playing with the great  Klub Kidz sheet .  Initially I wanted to make a cardboard altered book.  But then I figured that this would not be interactive.  I really wanted to be able to capture some of their thoughts as well as handwriting.  I think it will be great fun to look back on later! Now initially I made 8 inserts for this album.... but with all the collage of paper plus the tags only 4 fitted well.  So I have already 4 inserts ready to go! Here's the top of it.  The faces I made using a mold with toilet paper or with clay.  I painted the face with some nail polish :)  I used a little heart button for the closure. Here's a look at the side hanging charm that I made: The back with my little handwritten date and such.  The orange enamel dots are pony beads that I melted! Here's the inside of it. Each kid as a little section with some tags and some smas

ICU - RSD

Image
Hello!  I'm here just to share for fun a little make that I did.  My mojo's been out the door because Monday I learn from the psychiatrist that the medication that I was taking wasn't the right one... that explains why I wasn't getting better and actually felt worst in some aspect.  The good news is that I had made some change myself by doing really NOTHING which meant that the darker thoughts stayed away even if I was feeling sad and tired. And of course I also learned on Sunday the dismantling of the SBS team and that bummed me out as well...  It's a good thing that I'm doing mixed media these days... playing with paints and getting all dirty is really helping my mood and letting me cope better with stuff... I can't do much but the little I do brightens up my day. Anyway that's not why I'm here... I'm kinda in a zombie mood... maybe because I'm feeling a bit like one?!?  That actually might be close to the truth.... and I have used a lo

Sparkle and Glitter Progressive challenge - Midway point

Image
Hello everyone!  It's already the midway point for the progressive challenge of  Sparkle and Glitter  and even if you haven't been playing you can purchase the cute little digi to play this month here.  She's called Aloha Nui . I just love love love this image!  I wasn't sure what colors to use for her dress... so I searched the net and found this image and it was my starting point. I've been doing that a lot lately to get inspiration for colors that I use.  And I'm quite happy with the result.

Caustic Rattflynger - Airless Chambers post

Image
Hello!  It's my turn to host Airless Chambers  today  and I should probably use my darker blog for this but I figured it's not that bad a make... and I'm doing something different for my usual cards....  I tried my hand at making a T-shirt for my eldest son.... Well it was my very 1st try and it didn't  come out the best... I thought this great image would be perfect for a teenagers t-shirt  Caustic Rattflynger .  I should have used a darker transfer sheet to do this so the colors would have shown more clearly.... anyway here it is I'm still happy since it was my very 1st try and at least I did try something else. So here's my colored version done with copics. And how pale it ended up looking....  My son made the writing for the sentiment that says rock on.  I colored it up as well. He's wearing it as a pj top so that's still good :)  And guess you have to do stuff like this to learn... Do you do experiment as well that turn

Gene and Debbie - Sparkle and Glitter

Image
Today is my day for sharing some inspiration for Sparkle and glitter challenge .  I had so much fun making this! If you have followed me this year so far you know that I have totally become a stalker of  Bonnie  I want to try to make other things then cards that end up sitting in boxes!!!! Another thing that Bonnie got me totally HOOOKED line and sinker is the journaling.  And when I saw the super cute litttle digis  Debbie Singing in the rain  and the awesome  Gene Singing in the rain  I just knew that I had to do a double layout with those 2. I actually made a little spring scene!!!!  It's been a long time since I had so much painting... feels like a little kid in daycare getting all dirty and just loving it!

Eeny Meeny - Rick St-Dennis

Image
Hello!  I'm doing something different for my usual cards for the Airless chambers ....  Because of the fabulous Bonnie I have started Journaling...and got SOOOOOO hooked that I actually got up to sketch it up before I would forget about it. I had the fabulous image  Eeny Meeny  to craft with and I thought it was the perfect image to use for my Poker make.  I purchased a poker set for the kids to play with during the spring break... and my hubby well he though it wasn't the best idea and that it would gather dust and not be used.... but low and behold the kids LOOOOVED it! So here's my journal page to put the memory down.

Daffo Dill - RSD

Image
I had so much fun making this! It's for my inspiration post over at Sparkle and glitter with rick blog If you have followed me this year so far you know that I have totally become a stalker of  Bonnie  I want to try to make other things then cards that end up sitting in boxes!!!!  So for this make I decided to use a great frame that I got at a bargain at HomeSense (our TJ MAX for the American friends). And I used the super cute  Daffo Dill Fairy . So here's how I colored her with copics: I was pretty happy with my coloring... And then I put her in the frame....

Alice with Tea cup - I brake for stamps

Image
Ohhhh there's some fab digis from Rick St-Dennis under the name of Randi Dandi over at  I brake for stamps  and one of them is the fabulous  Alice with Tea Cup Here's what I created with her.  I realized after that I had mistaken her bandanna for hair... talk about an idiot.... oh well.... I still think it turned out cute! I went with some really bright colors because that's what Alice in wonderland means to me!  And I hunted all over my stash of paper to find the teacup one :)  I knew I had some... the question was WHERE!

Image
Hello!  I'm here to remind you that there's 15 more days to participate in the great  Sparkle and Glitter progressive challenge .  The challenge this time is spring and if you participate you get next month's image for FREE!!!!  That should be pretty awesome incentive to participate! For my make I decided to make a little easter gift for my stepmom.  She just adores rabbits!  So I used one of the fab rabbits from RSD called Whack.a.doo Easter bunny The frame was purchased on clearance at Homesense (our equivalent of TJ Maxx)

Palm Court Hat Lady - RSD

Image
Today I have a traditional card to share with you done for my inspirational post over at Sparkle and glitter with Rick .  I totally LOOOOOVE Rick St-Dennis' hat ladies.  I just think they are so very elegant.  And they make some great cards that can be offered for so many different age group. The one that I'm sharing today is  Palm Court Hat Lady  and I went all out with this card!  Over the top embellishments compared to my regular style... But I kept this fairly monochromatic so I think it really worked.  And I used colors on her that I would not normally use...

It's time to remind you of the great progressive challenge going on over at  Sparkle and glitter .  If you played with us for the month of January you got this fabulous new image free.  But you can now purchase it to play :)  You can find the super sweet String of hearts here . For this make I decided to do something different!  I embellished the envelope that was used to send the Valentine's card of my oldest to his girlfriend :)  So yup used the zombie boy for the inside of the card and another RSD image for the envelope!  You can't do much better than that can you?!? Here's my little envelope.

Zombie boy - RSD

Image
Hello!  I'm hosting the  Airless Chambers blog  today and I'm sharing the inside of a very special Valentine's day card. My oldest son's girlfriend really love anything to do with horror movies.  So I thought this cute... well to me he's cute little  zombie boy  would be perfect for the inside of her card.  I don't normally do inside of cards but this was just perfect for it.

Charlotte Chic Valentine - RSD

Image
Well I hope you are not fed up of my calendars :)  I just have to share with you the cover that I made for my husband's calendar using a great image of RSD for my post of Sparkle and Glitter blog .  He complained that I had done one for my son's youngest teacher... so I needed to make one for him.  You saw the May page done using Sadie for the progressive challenge. For this I thought it was just perfect to use the fabulous  Charlotte chic valentine girl  she seemed the perfect party girl to start off the year!

RSD Progressive challenge part 2 - Sadie

Image
This is the reminder post for the January  RSD Progressive challenge .  This time it's anything goes with a RSD image.  So that's pretty easy.  There are so many fabulous digis that the only issues you will have is to choose which ones lol For my make this time around I used the fabulous  Sadie  and used her on the May calendar page that I made for my husband for Christmas.  I figured May is mother's day and this would represent mom pretty good!  His mom was always so elegant!  So this was just perfect.
