13 days of Halloween - Simply Betty - Big bad Halloween Blowout!

Image
Happy Halloween!!!!  So sad that this is the last post of the 13th days of Halloween of  Simply betty .  And this time the challenge is to Alter something but it has to be something other than a journal or card. So I thought and thought about that one... I don't do many alterations... but I have seen some fabulous artist that do over at Smeared and Smudged Forum  and so I have to give thanks to them for the inspiration. My make was to transform a regular wood little box into something more!  And here's the picture of the before.  I had NEVER done anything of the kind... so it took me FOREVER!!! lol  There's lots of steps to this... My inspiration came also from the digi that I wanted to use for this  Amarantha Red Ribbon Digi So I removed all the hardware of the box and then used my Liquitex modeling paste all over the exterior of the box.  Inside I painted it with my Deco Art Royal Ruby. Once the exterior was dry I used Deco Art Moss Pearl paint and then the

13 days of Halloween - Simply Betty - Witching Hour

Image
Hello!  So it's time for a new challenge over at  Simply Betty  and this time it's about Witches!!!!  But of course it can't be just the simple challenge of using a witch... it had to be something far off... lol So it's have your witch fly off the page... using pop up dots or wobble or something... So that got me thinking of my initial card that I did to get into this fab competition.  I had used acetate to make my witch fly.  Of course I couldn't just do a card like I had done then because that would be lame... so I thought about what I could make... and ended up with a House! So here it is using my Cameo silhouette and some imagination.  There's lots of pictures in this post... sorry in advance lol  I printed the fabulous  Witchy Mrs Boo  twice reversed so that I could place them on top of one another. I added some foam stickers to this, a little charm spider dangling from the front door Here's a closer look at that colored digi And here's

13 days of Halloween - Simply Betty - Zombies

Image
Hello!  It's time for the next challenge over at  Simply Betty Stamps  and this time around it's about zombies! So I had fun making something with the great  Zombie Babe Betty And I made something that I don't normally do which is more altered art... I used a little wood coffin that I painted in beige... then I painted it black and did a crackle finish.  I don't  know why but my crackling is never really good.... so I did some sanding to distress it a bit more... I made it like she's coming out of the coffin. I colored her with my copics.  And fussy cut her out.  I added a bunch of webbing and a spider. Here's a closer look of the open view And a closer look at the digi which was soooo fun to color! I'm entering this make in the following challenges: Haunted design house  - Halloween - adult version.  I think my coffin makes a good decoration but it's not the cutie type.... Left of center challenges  - Halloween Crafts 4 eternity
