The East Wind - Unlisted

Image
Hello everyone!  It's time for a new release over at  The East Wind  and this time around the image is Unlisted!  It's just SOOOO gorgeous I couldn't resist and just had to play with her! I have been playing with my verday paints and I had used some extras on an Index card.  I really love the verdigris that it creates!  You should check it out if you don't know that paint it's really gorgeous and makes regular paper look like metal! So anyway back to my story I had some left over and just didn't want to waste it so I put it on an index card and love love love the background it made.  When I saw this digi I just knew it was perfect for it.  I had also purchased a fun picture stand in the states this summer and I put that index card on it as a display in my living room!  I really love how it turned out :) and that's rare because I don't usually like what I make! So here are the pictures with the picture holder And a close up of the image colored w

TEW - Party girl

Image
Oh it's already September 1st!!!! Where is the time going?!?  The good news is that means there's a new Freebie if you are a newsletter subscriber at  The East Wind . And she's a total CUTIE pie perfect for our corrugated paper challenge! Now because it's September it's also back to school time.  I have to say that I really love shopping for back to school stuff because I always see cool scrappy stuff too!  I ended up buying more stuff for me at Walmart than for my kids lol there was a bunch of very cool Crayola products out!!!!  Including a set of neon acrylic paints for kids (washable lol).  It just called out my name. Of course, I had to use them on this project.  Got me super excited.  I've been really inspired by Bonnie to try to create stuff in bolder colors and different ways.  So here's my journaling with this fab image.

The East wind - you ought to be in pictures

Image
It's time for a brand new challenge over at  The East Wind  and this time around it's about movie inspiration. I was preparing this while I was still camping.... and well I was kinda out of it... couldn't figure out what to do as my inspiration for you guys.  So I browsed through my images from TEW and YAY found it!  And I'm sure that you will get it just by looking at my layout lol I used the super adorable  Baby Aurora Angel .

Teenager - The East Wind

Image
Wow there's a brand new release image from  The East Wind  and this time it's about a Teenager!!!!  and boy oh boy do I know about those!  I have 4 in the house!  And of course I still remember those teenage years... not the best of my life. So that's what I decided to journal instead of talking about one of my kids lol  Just in case they read the post and then later say how I was just HORRIBLE... they could still say that but I'm trying to avoid as much as possible :) I thought it would be a fun time to use my home made puzzle stencil.  So that's what I did with some of my pan pastels.  The background was done in grey and then I used the orangy/yellow for the puzzle pieces.  I added some real puzzle pieces that I painted with some black acrylic paints.  The puzzle was purchase at a thrift store on vacation that helps for the animal shelter!  So a win win!  I added some journal tags from the project life.   The writing was done with my fountain pen but one tha

The East Wind - Anything but a card challenge

Image
Hello everyone!  It's time for a new challenge over at  The East Wind  and this time around it's about anything but a card! I would say that this in the past would have been super hard but not anymore.... lol So for that I decided to use the fabulous digi  Lucy Loo morning stretch  now I really really wish that I looked this good when I stretched lol.... but you know how much I really really really loooooove Lucy Loo so had to use her on this special album that I'm making for a friend. It's made out of all recycled material that I gessoed and then painted over using my gelli plate.  It's my 1st time doing a total junk album :)  I really hope that she likes it!  I'm pretty happy with those pages!!!!

Lucy Loo - DIY Punk - The East Wind

Image
It's time for a new release image over at  The East Wind .  I just love love love Lucy Loo so I just HAD to play with her. I made a special junk album (meaning I'm using all junk material that I repurposed for this!  And I think it came out pretty awesome.  I really hope that the person that I intend on sending this too will like it. So for this page it's actually one of those shiny postcards that I keep on getting in the mail to advertise real estate.  I sanded the shiny paper.  Then I gessoed it.  I also used a box of soap to make the pocket.  I used my big gelli plate to make the print on this with some acrylic paint.  Then I used my sewing machine around the pocket to sew it together.  I used some stamps and some stencils to make these gelli printing. Here's a look at what I did. The great image was colored with my copics.   The tags were made using a project life card to which I put some washi tape and added a little hole and ruban from my stash.  The oth

Lucy Loo Right side of the profile - Patriotic challenge

Image
Well it's already time for a new challenge over at  The east wind  and this time around it's Patriotic.  That's a great time for it since it's the 1st of July here and Canada day. I do love Canada day....but I find it hard to use as inspiration because that's only red and white.... This time around however someone that I know had shared a picture of making a stamp out of twine and a wood block.  I thought I would give this a go and that's what I did for this background.  I think it turned out quite fun! I've also become quite fond of using project life cards!  and I found a set of dies from Quickutz called pocket scrap dies life.  That's how I did the sentiment on the left end side and the life at the bottom of the right page.  The sentiment was cut out from a book that I purchased in the special section of Homesense.  It had some awesome quotes that I figured I would be able to use and this one is about chaos which is appropriate with this backg

The East Wind Challenge - Ode to Nature

Image
Hello everyone!  It's time for a new challenge over at  The East Wind  and this time around it's about Ode to nature!  So you have to do something that is related to nature.  Pretty easy if you ask me! Now for my make I decided to make a little postcard!  I've been trying to upcycle stuff!  And I found this super cute image  Petit Unky with her petit cat I used a new technique to make this postcard after watching this video: So the technique called for oil pastels that you cover with 2 layers of black paint to which you have added some dishsoap.  Then you just scratch lightly the surface to uncover a design.  I wanted to make a rainbow on my postcard because with the image it made sense!  And I really wanted to send a rainbow to the person that I'm sending this too :) I colored the image with my copics.  The sentiment is from  Create with TLC  and it was edged with some prima chalk.  It's one of those prepaid postcard from magazines.... so I hope that

Betty Cockus Call me maybe

Image
OMG this is soooo not me... I didn't schedule or even make my post yesterday because I was busy crying.... the weening of the meds is making me a mess! Bad thoughts are back and yeah just not good all around.  Good thing that I have my family that is there and my friends that kept me busy with lots of little message of love.  And of course the sleeping pills that do zonk me out so that at least while sleeping I'm not in my bad place. Anyway all this to say that I didn't prepare my post for the East Wind.  I'm pretty sure however that Unky will forgive me for being late... it's not like I'm usually late and my item was done.  This time around again I made a little ICAD I just love working with that size!!!!  I need to go and purchase a little gelli plate to be able to make smaller backgrounds.  It's fun the big one but it's a bit overwhelming for me right now.... Anyway (just realize that I repeat myself....sorry.... you are getting it as it is today)

The East Wind - Lucy Loo long trip

Image
Oh my... I have totally FALLEN over unto the mixed media side... so much so that now I'm giving list of items to my family members to collect for me.... yup that's how bad it is!  Found out this week how to create albums using pop tabs... so called dad for that and well everything else in between.  Good thing that my family loves me and realize that I have nothing to do but watch videos and get ideas... and that just gets my mind going lol Anyway I'm here to share with you a make that I did for the  The east Wind  using the brand new release image from the store called Lucy Loo long trip .  And I've been having fun doing ICAD - supposed to be an index card a day... it's more like once in awhile lol but it's such a fun shape and size!!!!  Once you start you will love it.  It's just a bit bigger than ATC so PERFECT! I used my Gold champagne and my iced coffee as well as my iced rosé gelattos.  I used some book papers and some stamps that I had kept from

And the great sponsor for this challenge is  If you know and follow me you know how much I loooooove Lucy Loo and love coloring her.  I have fun with her hair and I have done it in all sorts of colors.  The image that I used this time around is: Lucy Loo close up Tip: I will share with you something that I have found out by watching a great youtube video.  I really love journaling and journals can get pricey.  Sometimes you find great journals at a reduced price at bookstores and such  this is the case of this one. However the pages are much thinner than the regular art/mixed media journals.  So my trick to you is glue 2 pages together(using a regular glue stick).  You can prep the entire book and then have fun.    And here's wh

The East Wind Challenge - Book it

Image
Hello!  It's time for a new challenge over at  The East Wind  and this time around it's Book it!  So either use part of a book or a book related image/sentiment :) In my case I used the great image  Lucy loo start your journey   and used a bunch of torn paper from a book to make this little ICAD.  I'm not making them every day... but I'm totally addicted to little index cards!  It's a fun other type of project to make. the background was done with my Gelli plate some left over paint that I had and then I used a bunch of different sentiments from 7 gypsies stamps stamped with my archival ink.  This was messy and FUN!!!!  I used my copics to color this fab image!  I really really really love Lucy Loo :) I'm entering this little ICAD (index card) in the following challenges: Red-rubber-designs  - Sassy Women - I think Lucy Loo is pretty sassy :) Time out challenges  - Grunge it up and optional embossing Creative moments  - Anything goes with option of
