Camping memories

This post is to show you what I did during my camping vacation :D

If you look at the Altered art post you will see that waaaaay back in the month of June I had prepared a book to record the memories of our vacation....

Well sometimes stuff doesn't work out the way you plan.... I  took out my book and all the family wrote in it and it was wonderful. I already had vision of using it to do my scrapbooking.  Well.... we left it out that 1st night... and of course... it rained!!!!  YIKES  it was all soggy... so no way of using it anymore.

When I went to Michael's I came across the smash books.  I realized that this would work!  So I started to cut out the 1st page and included it in my new book:

And while I was at the campsite, I colored some digis that I had preprinted and some stamps as well.  I figured this would be a great place to display them to embellish some of our memories.

For this page I used a wonderful image from Scribbles by Sandy.  It's called gone buggy and the sentiment is Time Flies.  He was such fun to color with my copics!!!

Here's a closer look:

I also had some camping digis that I had won from Scrapbook Stamp Society.  Here's Erin Rosting Marshmallows sugar pie ragamuffin.

And a closer look at the digi:

I always liked when people use their images colored as embellishments to scrapbook pages but I had never done this.  It really was great fun!

I'm entering in the following challenges:
  1. These inspired challenges - let's go camping
  2. Patties creations challenge - anything but a card (I have so much trouble with this one but this time I did good :D)
  3. Craft your passion challenges - gone buggy ( with the wonderful frog there's a tiny fly ;D )
  4. Forever friends challenge blog- something new (well there's a lot here... new digis, using a smash book for the 1st time and using digi's in that type of medium :D)  and the frog should count as an animal right?!?
This book should be a nice keepsake for the future... let's just hope that the 4 kids won't be fighting over it lol.  I got everyone to write in it so that we will be looking at everyone's writing in a few years when they have grown... should be good fun.

Big hugs!  Getting close to my 100 followers... soon I will be good for a celebration candy :D  Thanks for all the wonderful comments from my amazing followers!
