Oddball Design FB challenge - August

Image
Hello!  It's time for a new challenge on the FB group of Oddball Design .  And for this I decided to use the wonderful image 296 which you can find here . The background for this journaling that was done in a modified book was done with brushos.  I love that you can't really know in advance how this is going to turn out!  I used a stamp border to do the edge.  The image was colored with my copics and I used some prima chalk ink around the sentiment. If you don't have any images from Oddball you should go and check out the great Etsy store and you can use this code DTVICKY10 to get a 10% discount on your purchases. Hope you enjoy your day and your stay creative!!! Hugs

The image that I used is  Image 297 Here is the make: I had a big stamp that I purchased from a liquidation at my local craft store and I finally used the words from it here!!!  The image was colored with both copics (the fairy)  and colored pencils (all the books).   I also added some gelli roll pen on the wings.  I fussy cut her out.  And I used my Faber castell pen to edge it

And yes I have another postcard to share with you.  However for this one I have done a video that you will be able to see here: The entire reason for this postcard was to share with a friend what I had made with a puzzle piece from a puzzle she gave me.  However if you didn't watch the video... I can tell you I was really surprised by the size of the puzzle piece.  I thought it would be small ones.  Which obviously you can see is not the case.  But I was able to make something with it so I was really happy that it worked in the end. The image was colored with my copics.  I used my faber castell pen on the stenciled pieces and of course lots of paint.  The stencil used for the

Oddball NEW RELEASE part 2

Image
I hope you saw the post part one on my blog (you can see it here ). The new release from  Oddball art  is just FABULOUS.  I'm doing a 2 part blog post!  For this 2nd part I'm using Image 308!!! I just adore owls and so I couldn't resist playing with those!  You will want to check out the  FB group  for all the wonderful makes that the DT team have done.  They will inspire you for SURE. For this I made a card for my journaling out of the box.  It's using a cereal box cardboard.  This one had been used as a wipe out for the left over paints that I had while making other projects.  I also have a part of stencil showing through. Since I wanted the rest of the paint that was already on this to show through I used silk paint on top.  It's transluscent but does cover the parts that were white.  I added a little yellow mesh, some cork decorations stickers (found at the dollar store).  I fussy cut the owl which were colored using my new peerless watercolor, cosmic sh

The journal page that I used had already some paint and stencil on it.  I added some brushoes to make it fun.  I also put a bit of washi tape.  The images were colored with copics as well as oil pastels!  Love mixing it up and I don't do that often enough!!! I'm entering this in the following challenges: Left of center challenges  - theme is witch but I'm entering this as LOC Open-minded crafting fun  - favorite technique - I just ADORE doing m

Oddball midway post March

Image
Hello everyone!  It's already time for the midway post of Oddball for the Facebook anything goes challenge with an Oddball image. I have been having different issues recently and I wanted to art journal about it!  This time it's all about earlier this month when I reformated the little sd card where I save my digis.  Why you will ask?!? because I was taping a video and it didn't recognize it and asked me to reformat... and me?!? I didn't think about it and just did it and realized after that it was AWFUL that I had just deleted all my digis.... I was lucky I had saved but not all of them back in July 2015.... that's still a whole lot of digis lost.... and then a crafty friend suggested that I try to get them back with some special programs.  I did but they all lost their names and folders :( So now I have to find where they go... and rename them.... So this is the journal page about that!!!!  Using the fab image 288 . I used my distress paint wilted viol

Oddball Facebook challenge - March 2016

Image
Woop woop it's time for a new challenge over at the FB group .  And for this time around since I was SICK like crazy last week as well as the family I just HAD to journal about it when I found this great image 289 . And since I really WASN'T feeling really alive.... I figured she would be a zombie and I would go with my favorite color combos purple and green! I used a lot of stencils on this make but one that I know who it's from is Tim Holtz bubble one (BTW for the designers of stencils, you should always put the names on the stencils.... it would be easier for us when we throw the packages to remember what we are using... just a thought).  I used some Faber castel oil pastels for the background with some baby oil to spread it (smelled awesome).  Then I used my Deep purple archival ink as well as my wilted violet distress ink.  I also stamped with my Paper artsy stamps (they are really getting to be one of my go to stamps in Stazon olive green. The digi was colored

The digi was colored with my copics and I used some gelli roll pen on the wings for sparkle.  I used a sentiment from Dylusions. Here's a cl

Oddball - January FB challenge midway post

Image
Wow already the time to share with you my midway post of January for Oddball !  It seems like time is flying by so very fast. For this post I decided to finally get around to doing the 1st prompt of the year that Journal 52 gave which was Word for 2016! My word for the year is Acceptance.  And by that I mean accepting myself as I am and stop feeling guilty or that I'm not good enough!  I need to convince myself this year that I am worthy and that I am enough!!! This doesn't mean that I won't work hard on a bunch of my issues (for example patience which is lacking... lol) but it means that I really need to also accept myself like I would any of my friends.  I tend to want too much of myself and that is not good and it ends up in a bad spiral. I used the great image 171  to make this because I wanted this little girl to look chocked that this was my word :)

Postcard humour

Yesterday I had some time to play and I decided to participate in a challenge that I am following but that I don't participate in enough!  That's the Sunday postcard challenge .  I want to do more mailing to my friends and I thought this would be a great way to do one just because for the fun of it :) For this make I decided to use a great image from Oddball called  image 140 . The challenge over at Sunday postcard is about Comedy.  Well I think this is pretty funny :)  I used a bunch of papers that I had in my stash as well as a magazine cut out that I had a little piece left and I tore the sentiment out.  It's from  Ginger house .  I doodled with my sharpie pen and also did the edge.  The sentiment was edged with a prima chalk ink.  The image was colored iwht my copics. I had so much fun doing this and I really hope that the person that I send this too will like it as well. I'm entering this in the following challenges: Sunday postcard art  - Comedy/Humor

So that was the perfect make to make my colleague smile!!! I used for the background some photo paper that I had sprayed with my alcool inks. I colored her up with my copics.  The edge of that little 4x6 make was dong with my memento ink.  I used some recollection bling as well and my Nellie's oval dies. I'm entering this little make in the following challenges: Crafty catz weekly challenge  - Sparkle and shine - there's bling here Craft rocket challenges  - Anything goes Crafting with an attitude  - An
