Path of Positivity Challenge # 4 - July 1st

Good evening everyone!!!  Hope you had a fabulous Monday!  Mine was the best since it's a holiday here!  ;o)  That means that I got to craft and blog in peace.

I am here to share with you my DT post for the great Path of Positivity Challenge.   If you have not checked out that great challenge you need to.  This is the place to post your inspirational post!  I think that Lisa is so very inspirational and makes the best in all of us come out.  Thanks Lisa for putting this team together!!!

We have a theme for you for the month.  This month it's about Caring.  So please share with us your stories about caring!

And if that wasn't enough to get you to participate with us... we have some fabulous sponsors:
  • Ten digital images from Creative Bug Digital Stamps for the person out of the top seven who receives the most votes during voting week
  • Three digital images from Ike's World  for the post or project that the DT deems most inspiring of the bunch.
  • Five digital images from this month's guest sponsor, Digi Stamps 4 Joy, for a person chosen in a random draw based on all entrants.
  • One digital designer paper from Décosse's Dynamite Doodles for one lucky voter who leaves a comment.
  • One digital sentiment for every single person who enters the challenge.
I have decided to do something totally out of my usual comfort zone.  I have made a journal from scratch!  Yup I used the bind it all that I had purchased used and created this journal.  It wasn't an easy process because I have realized that there's a part missing on the machine... so I had quite a few mistakes... but I persevered and succeeded!!!

I have made enough pages that I can use this book for the upcoming year.  So I really hope that Lisa doesn't kick me out of the team... otherwise I will have quite a few empty pages lol.

This will be a long post... lots of pictures ahead.  This is the cover of the book.  I used a book's torn pages that I collage on top.  I added some American Craft Letters.  Some mists as well.  The metal piece is from a pair of earrings that I purchased at the salvation Army, I torn the back from it.

For the 1st page I used some rub-ons from Fancy pants.  I don't like using those... but thought it would look good and I realized while using it why I don't like those lol  They tear.... but I still managed.  I added a sentiment from Create with TLC that I thought was just perfect for this book.  I journaled a bit and made a little doodle... yup I'm no artist...
For the 2 pages layout that I made for this Caring challenge, I used the fabulous digi JL359 - Merle from Digi Stamp 4 joy.  It can be found here.  I have used another sentiment from Create with TLC as well as the fabulous sentiment from Decosse Dynamite doodles.

The papers are all left overs from previous projects.  The flower was part of a box given to me by my dad.  I added a big brad in the center that comes from Eyelet Outlet.  I used my scallop and large circles from Spellbinder.  Sorry that the picture is dark... not easy taking pictures of a journal.

The image was colored with my copics and I added stickles to the wings for the added shine.

Here's the other page closer.
I think showing you care does show courage... it's not always easy to care.  But you all have those Angels that appear in your life and show that they do care.  We can all be an angel in someones' life.  So whose life will you touch?!? And will you share with us your stories of caring?

I hope that you will be joining us.  I'm looking forward to seeing your posts.

I'm entering this journal in the following challenges:

  2. Thank you for your sweet words my dear friend. This journey would not have been the same without you along for the ride. The fact that you were able to fit yet another team in, is why you are my card making idol.

I didn't know that you had made the actual book from scrap, that is amazing! I am so glad that you are finally doing something totally for you and that each step on your path will be a new journal entry. Your creation for this month is just stunning. I love the colour choices and the softness of the image. That flower is just beautiful as well. Finally, you couldn't have closed off the post any better with your sweet words on the subject of caring.

I am so blessed to have you as part of the team. I look forward to being able to show off more of your fabulous journal creations.

    Hugs,
    Lisa
