Quirky Crafts Challenges - GDT

Hello!!!  I'm super excited to be the Guest designer for this forthnight over at Quirky Crafts.  And this time their challenge is about it's a small world afterall... just like the ride over at Disney ;o)  I will be sharing with you a little memory after I share my creation with you.

The sponsors this time is:
Paper Pretties and Doodle Dragon by Dustin Pike

I decided for this GDT to go all out!!!!  And use the most images that I have ever used in my life on one single card lol  I had this image in my head and I have come pretty close to what I was thinking...  This is one heavy with pictures post!!!

So here's the closed version:
(click more to see the rest of the post with the details of this card)
The paper that I thought was appropriate for this card is from Prima - Welcome to Paris and MME - Traveler which are about travelling.  I used my Lacey square, Eyelet square+ Eyelet circle, scallop circle, large circle all from Spellbinder.  I added a border from MS.  I wanted to create some pockets to include some tags on this project.  The hello was stamped with my Hero Art stamp.  I have created the other sayings.  So my take on this project was to bring some hellos from all over the world!

Here's Washington colored with my copics.
And here's the look of the card with the tags out
Here's a closer look at Fantastic Sophia I added some Candi on this little tag and a ribbon from my stash.  The hello is the Japanese hello.  At least that's what the translator says... so sorry if I have it messed up!

And here's Thanksgiving.  I added some feathers.  For this tag I made the background with different inks and sprays.  I really love the look of that tag.  I used a Mohawk saying.  Again sorry if I have it wrong.
Here's the inside of that card with the French saying!
Here's the closer look at the Merci Beaucoup Poodle.  I added a "bonjour" on top of the Merci beaucoup because that one really didn't fit my card inspiration.

And here's the little saying I added to the inside.  I used a MS corner punch on the little text box.
So what do you think?!?  Pretty cool?  It's one very heavy card...

OK so now I'm going to be sharing with you a little view of the ride "it's a small world after all" at Disney.  It's a classic ride... but man is it older looking after you have seen all the newest high tech ones... and that song..... it really really gets to you when it plays in a loop like in that ride... you have it in your head for a week!  And I can still hear it... after 3 years lol  I found a video on youtube to share the song and the ride with you!!!!
And here's some little pictures that we took:

Yup great memories of Disney... just not of that annoying little song lol.  And the ride even if it's really boring after the high excitement one is really full of so many details.  This must have been one expensive ride to build originally.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

  8. What an incredible idea for a "Small World" card, Vicky! Terrific image choices and fabulous embellishment details. I first did the Small World ride at Disneyland in California when it was fresh and new and very exciting because it was at the tip top of technology at the time. And, all these years later, I can still hear the song in my head without even having to play the video. :-D From what I understand, children today still love both the ride and the song!
