Growing a flower

Good evening!  I hope you have had a fabulous day folks!  I'm so very glad it's Friday!!!!  WOOOOHOOOO! This weekend I'll see my mom but also my beloved brother, SIL and wonderful little twins!!! ;o)  Miss those kisses so much.  That will be awesome and that's taking place tomorrow... so tonight I crafted a bit while doing the dreaded laundry... still loads more... especially since I should be putting some summer clothes away for the winter stuff.... oh just the word winter gives me chills lol.

I had lots of fun today as well on my other blog for those of you that like darker stuff click on my badge to get you there and see what I have been up too! ;o) It's Friday the 13th after all!  I need btw to see a scary movie... just need to convince someone to see it with me lol.  Gregory my 12th year old is willing... just not sure that I want to traumatize him that way... hee hee hee.

So I'm here to share with you a little card that I made just for the fun of it.  It's an image from a Day for daisies and it's the freebie for this forthnight.  There challenge is about monochrome... and man that really gave me a hard time.  I really love the image but I just couldn't seem to find the color combination that I wanted to work with tonight.  Somehow my inspiration was off.... and well as it happens I finally found some papers and the rest just fell into place ;o)

I really wanted to go soft for this.  I was thinking of a thinking of you card but then I found a great sentiment that I had in my stash and that was just perfect.  So the colors are shades of warm greys.

The paper is from GCD studio - Family Jeans.  I used my last flower from a Prima flower pack and it just happened to be the right color.  I used my reverse wonky rectangles from Spellbinder and I added my favorite flourish die from Joanna sheen.  And that's it!

Here's the image colored with my copics.  I also added some stickles to the wings.  The sentiment is from A piece of heart.  I don't know if you know this site but she really has some fabulous free sentiments.  Check it out if you don't know it.
I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
  1. A day for daisies - monochrome
  2. A creative romance - dies or punches - used dies
  3. Sister act card challenge - Anything goes
  4. Southern girls challenge - Make believe - fairies, fairytales etc.
