GDT spot Raise the Bar
Hello everyone! So a few weeks ago I was one of the chosen 4 designers for a guest spot over at Raise the bar challenge. So this is my post for it!
Last week my wonderful web friend Lisa Decosse from Decosses dynamite doodles started a new monthly challenge that you can find here. This is about the path to positivity! Well... she was going to enter a card of mine last week and well we argueed about it because to me it wasn't inspirational or fitting to this positivity challenge. I finally won! Barely I might add because I told her I had something planned and would not do it if she entered my card lol hee hee hee. And this is what I had planned!
For those of you that don't know today is Lisa's B-Day!!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY LISA!!!!!! And this is the card that I made for this occasion. It was mailed out last week and should have reached her by now! Well I hope so anyway.
And this card had a special purpose as well for this post. Because you see Lisa always spends an enormous amount of time doing all kinds of research for us fellow crafters! She also takes time to give us wonderful digital freebies!!! For this past week she spent all night doing the post and everything. And well we often take for granted people like Lisa who are just so very generous with us! So I wanted to take the time to give back to her. And I really really hope you will take the time to go over to her blog and see the wonderful work she does. You will be amazed.
She does as well a lot of promotional post... but take the time to read them. She has the most fantastic stories about the characters in the digis. She should become an author lol. She very often makes me giggle just reading it. So go on (well after you have seen the rest of my post) to see her here Decosses dynamite doodles. And become a follower because you will want to see her next posts. ;) And BTW she's the talented lady that made my wonderful badge for the 300 followers... OK... have I told you enough how amazing she is and so very generous lol
For this card I used a new digi from Heather Valentine called Winston gnome and pip. You can only purchase the official digis here at Lacy sunshine
For this card I used paper from Fancy Pants - Beach Bum. I used my small and large cicle dies from Spellbinder. I added a bunch of Fish stickers. I fussy cut my gnome and put it on foam.
Here's a closer look at the gnome that I colored using my copics. I found a sentiment that was just perfect for this card. It's from Create with TLC.
And of course in honor of Lisa ;) I finished off the interior. Now I took the picture before writing the note because that's for her eyes only.
I really really hope that she'll be surprised with the card... I'm a bit worried because it's Thursday night and she made no mention of getting it yet... so probably will see this post before...oh well SURPRISE ;)
I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
- Word art wednesday - anything goes
- Decosses dynamite doodles - Path of positivity
- Pennys challenges - Use a sentiment
- Stampotique designers challenge - Birthdays
- Paper pretties blog - Happy birthday
- Vs sweetideas - Anything goes (thank you Karen for mentioning this ;) )
And that's it!!! It's Friday and I really hope you have a wonderful one!!!!
I’m doing a giveaway to celebrate my 300 followers! If you are a follower You can enter at this post and if you’re not now is a great time to become one…

Fabulous card Vicky...just a bit concerned about little Pip. Don't want him being eaten by those big fish, so hope Winston is looking after him!

I keep saying it...you are something else woman. Not only do I get the most fabulous birthday card in the mail and a wonderful present to boot but you also do this amazing post. You have no idea how much this means to me. The phrase 'Thank you' just doesn't seem enough. Thank you so much for helping to make my birthday so special this year.
ReplyDeleteMuch love,
Lisa

ReplyDeleteFirst I want to let you know that she did receive your birthday card. She was really happy to receive such a beautiful card.
Second, I want to express my sincere thank you for all the compliments that you have bestowed upon her on your blog as well as other comments about Lisa from other bloggers.
As for me, I am aware of all these wonderful things that she can do and does and she works really hard to keep her blog up-to-date as well as lending a helping hand to those who need it. I have read several blogs in the last few months and I am really happy to see that other people, as well as myself, appreciate Lisa not for what she can do, but for who she really is. I am really proud of her myself and try to be a positive support in everything she does.
A great card for a special person.
ReplyDeleteThank you so very for sharing this wonderful artwork with us this week.
