Freddie's Bar B Q

Well goodevening everyone!  Yup it's really late for me to be doing a post... but my hubby is away at his dad so I'm all alone with the kids and I find it a lot harder to fall asleep.  So figured I might as well post a card that I had made this week.

I also wanted to tell you a little more about what happened to my washer last night... Yesterday my kids were home alone since it was a ped (pedagogical) day in their school.  So before I left I started the laundry and told them to continue throughout the day and that I didn't want any clothes left when I came back.

Well I received a phone call at around 9 o'clock to say that there was an issue with the washer that it wasn't emptying properly... it was still full of water.  So I gave them as much advice as I could being away... but in the end it was to be left until I would come back.  Now my hubby was supposed to be leaving last night... so I e-mailed him right away to let him know that there was an issue and that I would need his help.  Because for those of you that don't  follow me closely I have 4 kids so... with a family of 6 a working washer is no luxury!!!

When I got home I had to empty half of my craft room because it's also the laudry room.  Told you it's a pain in the behind that the washer is there... lol  Then I tried to pull out the washer to access the back but it was so heavy with all the towels in it.  So had to put those in the sink (I'm so glad I have one in that room).  By then I was exhausted... but still nothing was working.  My hubby arrived and we looked at the manual together.  There's nothing written in that #@%@#% manual!!!  So thanks to google we researched the net and finally got that we needed to open it up.  Then we realized that there was some clothes stuck between the drum and the water tank.  It's one of those top loaders without an agitator, so it spins really really quickly... but there's a little space at the top between the tank and the drum... and when it spins, some socks had gone in the holes and this must have been going on for awhile... and since it's my sons' socks... well they are always missing some therefore it went unnoticed!  The washer was literally eating our socks!!!

It's all fine and dandy to know that it's there... but it was quite something else to really take everything apart and put it back together afterwards lol  It's really a good thing that google exists.  But it still took us 3 hours to do... and we were totally exhausted afterwards.

So all this story to say that I didn't post this card yesterday because I was too tired after my adventure!

Now back on track with my card.  I play in the Outlawz freebie challenge they have the cutest digis for us to play with every 2 weeks.  And if you play you get the next 2 ;)  So this time I played with the wonderful Freedie's Bar B Q from Anne's digital Art.

Isn't he fun?!?  I used paper from my cut out piles!!!  YAY for me!  I added some Hemp cord and a charm from my stash.  The cardboard under the sentiment comes from a pack I had gotten in a candy giveaway.  I used a cuttlebug embossing folder.

Here's a closer look at the digi that I colored with my copics and some Pearlescent chalks from Pebbles for the sky and the water.  The sentiment that I added is one from Create with TLC.

I followed this sketch to make it:

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

  1. Digi sketch challenge - Sketch + rain rain go away ( I followed the sketch)
  2. Outlawz challenges - Freebie
  3. Chalk n stock - Anything goes

So that's it for me for tonight!!!  Hope you had a wonderful Saturday!  I did the chores... did a tiny bit of crafting but then watched the Titanic with my daughter while the boys were playing video game so all in all not bad.

  2. Vicky your card is adorable. Sorry to hear the grief about the wash machine. I have a front loading machine which I love, but there are other issues. My kids can almost NEVER get pairs of socks to the laundry shoot so I would not think anything of "missing socks". My daughter is only 4'11'' so she is short and all her pants are too long so no one can see that most of the time she does not wear matching socks. EVERY birthday and Christmas I buy her some; however, the sock fairy does something to them. Now if I were to show a picture of my son's room, my house would be condemned as not livable. I am looking for dishes too. He does take our male cat in there and I'm concerned that I'm going to have animal control people after me it is that bad. I beg him to clean it, and how it gets in there without hurting himself I don't know. I can't wait until he has a place of his own and when I visit I will never hang a wet towel. hehe I am hoping that I survive my son being a teen-ager - my husband tells me that I will, but I have my doubts.
